new donkey kong on wii

anyone got it? if so, worth getting? i always preferred DK to super mario brothers. maybe because throwing barrels at other animals is awesome.

My son got it today. Haven't played it yet as we're not at home. Was a top scorer on metacritic so we have high hopes !

i want so badly to trust metacritic because it's such a convenient source but i just can't, not since i saw that it gave wet hot american summer a 42. i can definitely see people not liking that movie because it's weird and requires a certain sense of humor (david wain has said that people have come up and yelled at him for not being funny after stella shows), but a collective 42/100???? i feel betrayed by the internet

anyway i haven't played donkey kong i just wanted to nerdrage about metacritic for a second

Donkey Kong Country Returns is awesome. Serious fun with just enough challenge.

I'll have to check it out. I still play the original Donkey Kong from 1981. I like that game so much I bought the arcade coin-op and put it in my basement. I still don't think any of the Mario spin-offs can touch it.

It's pretty flippin' awesome.

Also, pretty difficult.

The co-op is great...my girlfriend and I played through the whole thing together. Took us a month of hard work to finish it.

Oh, well we only use it for games. It's been spot on so far.

So we got home yesterday and my son gives donkey kong the thumbs way up. :cool:

By the way, as my husband works in the games industry he probably hears a lot of stuff about games, so I think he uses metacritic as a final checking tool before parting with the cash.

This may have to be the first Wii game I've bought in a while. I tend to only buy Lego games. Speaking of, does anyone know if the Lego franchise will be moving on to something aside from Harry Potter? Who the fuck wants to play Lego Harry Potter? Dumb. How about some Lego Die Hard or some shit!?!
