I completely forgot about their show here and didn't go. Turns out by all accounts I missed THE show of the year.
Gutted.
Listened to an interview with Damon Albarn on Triple J and he said after the Aus tour, he was 'putting Gorillaz on a shelf' and he wasn't even sure if he'd do any more Gorillaz stuff ever again.
More gutted.

I enjoyed the live show but a live album seems pointless because they don't seem to go off script and what's interesting about that?-- they play along to the videos. Unless they're putting out the tracks with Lou Reed or something, but it doesn't look like that from the tracklist.
That HD concert footage that was on cable a few months ago was fun though, because you could see all the musicians on stage. It's nice to see a trombone now and then.

Yeah, I just saw that. I should have paid better attention to my reading and whatnot. :p
Their last album wasn't that good, but it's one of the albums I listened to most in 2010. I don't know why that is, except that maybe it doesn't sound offensive to anyone so it doesn't matter if people overhear it at work? I don't know, but I played the CD more often than any other recent release for some reason.

I have yet to pick up the last release. I posted this for the uberfans this isn't so bad for a road album

Plastic Beach was good. People shitted on it like the other Gorillaz albums were Pet Sounds and London Calling by comparison.

Did anybody actually listen to The Fall, or are we just going to sit here talking about Plastic Beach all afternoon?
After a playthrough, I thought The Fall was pretty good. Simple, raw, electronica-twinged goodness. Less pompous than Plastic Beach and all the better for it. Just a pity that in order to download it for 'free' you have to be a fanclub member which costs £30
