Having listened to a lot of the classic christmas songs, and a few many which baffled me as to their connection with christmas, over the last few weeks, I wondered if the Beastie Boys had given much thought to a one of christmas single, and if so, what would it sound like...?

This years kanye west christmas song, Christmas in Harlem was lauded by Zane Lowe (Radio 1) as the biggest hip-hop christmas song since Run DMC's christmas in Hollis, it just got me wondering...... Oh, and Country Christmas, although a one off, surely can't count!!! :D I'm sure the Beastie Boys could better kanye west's offering......

A) the beastie boys are Jewish (and Buddhist)

B) they're fully aware how cheap and tacky Xmas efforts by pop stars can be.

C) nobody does it better than Bing anyhow :)

Christmas in the Boroughs should be the name of it. No really as cheesy as it might be for them to do it it's still fun to think about because they are so creative. :p

Not only did they do a Christmas song, but it was a Country Christmas song.

Country Mike...

Now, I'd like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for helpin' my family gather around here today and puttin' all this great food on our table and I just hope He's just as generous to all the other fine country families out there on this special day.

We're havin' a country Christmas - I hope you'll have one too
Santa Claus is bakin' biscuits - what did he bake for you?
Daddy's got the fire a-blazin' - it's such a fine sight to see
Now all the cow hands are amazin' - and Santa left a gift for me

It's a country, country Christmas - people are gathered around
Country, country Christmas - baby Jesus is in town

And Santa gave Daddy some whiskey - an iron's what he gave to my mom
I promise ol' Kris Kringle - I write a song a night on my guitar
Turkey with all the fixins' - thank the Lord for all-a my food
For the wise men and the manger - to this game I'll always stay true

Well it's a country, country Christmas - sleigh bells and reindeer
Country, country Christmas - just good old family cheer

Woo!

Look Daddy...Santa came down the chimney and he drank the milk and ate the cookies I left for him. Look, an iron for Maw, see that Daddy? Little whiskey for you...and even left a gift for me! Thank you, Santa...Merry Christmas!

I could definitely see the Beastie Boys doing a Christmas or any holiday album all in the spirit of fun and goodwill since that's what these guys represent in their own wonderful wacky ways! ;) One thing's for sure, if they did as with all their music/projects it would be very different & memorable-imagine the videos! lol!:D:rolleyes:
