What is the most money you have every blown gambling in vegas (or any other gambling settings for that matter)
I blew about 2 gs this weekend, roughly my christmas bonus. However i was in shock watching my friends blow 3 and 5 grand and they are worse off than me financially. Smart, rational, people, completely lost control. I couldn't believe it.
I've been there twice. 10 days in 2005, 20 days in 2010.
Without any gambling.

never been to Las Vegas...but have been to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. I'm not much of a gambler...think about $50 is the most I've lost.

$20-80?
usually by about 40, if I'm not winning, I think "I just spent 40 on nothing, fuck this".
but I don't have any money and I don't enjoy gambling.

wow, you and your friends suck at gambling
I'd rather "waste" my hard earned money on better things.

Life is enough of a gamble.. I don't enjoy giving my money away.
Last time I went to Vegas I spent about $20 on slots, got bored.
I can see how you did that, it is an addictive type of activity

I think the most I ever dropped was $40.

I guess if you're gonna drop less than a 100 bucks the slots are the most fun?
I also don't get LOTTO people. They make me a little mad, a little.. Its the deep yearning for this retarded habit to change their lives - I feel that the attitude and placing all this hope on something like the lottery takes away bandwidth from other more productive, possibly fruitful things.
My grandma and her lotto tickets.. mah I guess it gives her a little excitement in life so whateverz

Nah. $5 blackjack and roulette. Once you make some money you can stretch it out a bit. But after I spend $40 if I make nothing off of it I call it a day. If I double my money, I stop.

this crazy girl who went to college with my boyfriend and randomly showed up in town one day a few months ago and hung out at his place with me and a few other people. she kept telling all these wild rambling stories that were pretty boring, including one about getting fucked up in vegas on coke and dropping $6000. she was like "yeah, you just gotta do that sometimes, right?!"
everyone was like, "uh, no?" and one dude was like "yeah, I would never do that, that is ridiculous.".
then she said, "Money runs through my hands like water, I don't know man!"
now, this white lady was about 5'4", dressed in a big hoodie and baggy jeans, with large gauge ear piercings and long light brown dreads (sp?) with some kinda headband.
anyway, she invited me to go to a museum with her and her 7 year old kid, but I had to work. told her that, but she still asked me 3 times. she also insisted that we'd become best friends by the end of summer.
never saw her again though. prob just too busy spendin G's
i've never been to vegas or any casino really but i did have a stint where i was sure i was into online poker. i did my research, read books, visited forums, learned to play and all that. i put $40 into cake poker and started on the .04/.08 limit tables to start with and spent about a week there building up confidence. i was making money every day. not much, obviously, but i was winning is the point. then i jumped right up to .50/1.00 and lost my whole bankroll in one afternoon :(
haven't tried again since

I've been to Vegas 4 times in the past 9 years and lost every time I went. The most was $700. The other 3 times was $500 each which was my limit to gamble.
The last time I went I stayed 5 days 4 nights so it was no big deal to lose $700 in that time period, I felt slightly sleazy but won a few jackpots to stay in the game for many hours, plus I had a diamond straight in 3 card poker @ NY,NY casino which paid 40-1 on a $20 bet. ($800.00) Total rush and very addictive.
I kind of hate Las Vegas Casinos. They bring out the worst in me so I have not gone the last 3 times when everyone else has gone. I already know I'm a mess so having that punctuated with an exclamation mark on my vacation sucks. I'm going to places where I can forget about how fucked up I am now, Vegas is out.

$80 I think, I got quite upset and wanted to go home. It's more dangerous when you win loads first as you believe you can continue, if you do nothing but lose, then it's a shock and you don't get the bug to carry on.

I got ripped off by a lady of the night in the Bahamas. I was at the Atlantis casino on an ideal family vacation, got too drunk and I ended flying back to Chicago $500 short and worrying I had an STD.
But Vegas was nice. Only lost about $300 there.

I set a limit that I'm only willing to lose $100 per day. I've never lost that much though.
