my story re autism

after our Sunday morning spiritual celebration we often go out to eat for lunch.

A new grill opened up near our home so we decided we would try it out because the location was favorable.

The place is called Tim's Place and the owner is a guy who is autistic. I recognized the guy as he had been in the paper often for accomplishments and even was voted homecoming king at his high school a few years back.

anyway, looking at the menu, I see that Tim's dream was to open a restaurant and now he has done it!!! Furthermore he loves to give hugs, so if you visit his place you are subject to getting hugs from Tim.

Right then Tim comes up to me and asks if I was aware of the hugging policy and I pointed to the menu and busted out a little chuckle... TIm proceeded to ask my 7 year old for a hug and she was happy to do it.

Then Tim looked at my wife and pointed at her and said .... "I'll get you later."

I said, "that's awesome"

I noticed Tim does discriminate as some got High fives, some got slaps on the backs, but any better than average lady got the full squeeze bear hug.

So, I had to relive myself and walked away for 2 minutes and when I came back Tim had attacked and I saw he had my wife in a full bear hug. He got her.

FYI ... the place was packed and continues to be packed. I am not sure if I can go there with my fellow co-workers, but I might revisit with the family. Seems Tim is a Genius ...
