Ever since this Zdar character got involved I've felt especially good about this upcoming record. given i know very little about him and he was clearly more of an afterthought than anything when it comes to his involvement, I mean, it just feels a little safer in my head for some reason. between his track record of various styles, his industry-praise, the bboys' clear fondness of him (i.e. mike's blog posts), his history of both engineering and production, and not to mention the fact that he's kind of been an elusive figure arond these boards at least up until this point, I must say he's eased any doubts I ever had over HSC. i always know im gonna like a new bboy record, and HSC is no different, but it feels like a bigger deal now than before for more than just the obvious reasons, like they've really come back and spruced it up real nice, gave it the full re-treatment. They had time to let it frement, to second guess themselves, to return and improve, etc.


also, on a sidenote, im curious if the original cut of HSC pt.1 will ever surface within the community. that would be fun to hear down the line. it'd give alot of insight into how their thought process developed over the album's long genesis.

im just real excited in general!:)

Yeah Zdar is a widely acknowledged genius in the studio, known in particular for his brilliance at mixing percussion (but not limited to that realm). I wasn't feeling great about this album, but his involvement is one of the weirder good things to come out of the horrible MCA health issue.

In fact, it would be idiotic to be fearful of his involvement, and I think anyone who is concerned should be allayed by McDuff's post. The time to build will make all the difference I'm sure. Great post Brother. (y)

I wonder what's going to happen with Under Pressure and Topless, because I can get with them (Nas fucking bodied Topless). Kush and I Need a Doctor make me bummed out about any prospect of Detox delivering. Chronic and 2001 are landmark albums for me; I hope Detox is for the right reasons.
