i guess that's my frequency, about once a year I come by here and see what's up.

i've been on FB, but since I use my real name there & am looking for a job, i self-censor a LOT. Very fake in some ways, but in other ways, it forces me to focus more on positive stuff. Which is good, cuz my life has been lower than the toilet/gutter for more than the past 2 years. I also try to keep everything on FB PG/ PG-13 rated... just to avoid offending any snoops. Which sucks, cuz I am really BEYOND crude, right?

friends, romans, countrymen: are you more/less honest on FB as BBMB? find it as frustrating as i do?

like this- this is the kind of shit that makes me SO ANGRY:

been unemployed 2 years, i'm an old grown-up (HA) professional lady. so i used to make BANK, and when I was first laid off, I applied for jobs that paid +/- 25% of what I made before. That's a big difference, right? But after all this time, I apply for jobs that pay a LOT LESS.

I have 15 years experience, and I'm applying for jobs that pay half what I used to make. That amount also happens to be about the same as ENTRY-LEVEL for this field. Now, I'm seeing jobs that pay less than THAT (more than 60% less than my previous $), and I WILL NOT APPLY.

I've got some savings, and I've lost almost all of my pride. But not all of it. Instead, I'm prob gonna go back to school (yep, PAY $) and change careers.

ANGRY:mad::mad: grrr

thanks!

I'm less and less into sharing anything personal at all online here or on FB. I did let some bbmb-style snarkiness slip out on fb recently, but it had no real consequences. Basically, a friend of a friend was bashing James Franco within a simple thread started by my friend, and I just said, "he's a smart guy and I am entertained by him, etc.", then the Franco hater jumped on me and everyone else who said anything positive about the man. I probably wouldn't normally argue with somebody in real life about James Franco, and I probably wouldn't have been so rude if I did. but oh well!

I usually keep things pretty PG-13 on FB, but I do miss anonymity online. I commented on an article online once for our local free paper, and it ended up being printed in the letters to the editor the next week. people approached me about it in real life, it was weird. and recently I posted a comment on an article that pissed me off, and the writer emailed me saying, "I'll address your comments specifically next week!" wtf? leave me alone, creep!

anyway, the older I get and the longer I work within the art and entertainment community, the more of a "pubic figure" I become and now I just don't want to say anything anywhere ever! but I still do. ha.

Dorothy, my job is government-related, so I have to be careful, too. Not celebrity stuff, but newspaper-scandal stuff. Or really: stuff that is NOTHING but gets twisted and exaggerated into "late-breaking news at nite." Crayzay.

Dorky sidenote you reminded me of: I met Harry Knowles of Ain't it Cool News, just a famous BLOGGER, mind you, at Target, and had conversation and I got all googly. DORK OUT MEEEE

Wait til i meet you! ha

rirv, I know, har har. It's not my term, my friend who does PR said I was that. sounds dumb, but fact is, people recognize me on the street sometimes for things I do. I don't like it very much.

i'm probably way more open on facebook than i should be, but i still hold back more on there than i do on here (or at least, than i would on here if i bothered to post much anymore)

for example! for some reason and please don't ask me why, i was thinking about rape fantasies the other day, and it occurred to me that i don't have those, i just fantasize that women actually want to have sex with me

i thought it was funny but i couldn't post about it on facebook because my aunt reads it and that would be weird because she might tell my mom

but i'll totally post about it here if i find the right thread

its only weird that you don't want to share with your moms or aunt.

I have to say, I love it here 1000x over facebook. I really can't stand FB, but its pretty much the only way to stay in touch with people. I just don't like the idea of putting my whole life up for all to see, my opinions for all to scrutinize, rants to be judged upon.

In fact, I 'whitewall' my page most of the time - meaning I'll do very limited posting and generally delete my posts periodically a week or so later. I think a bunch of people have been offended or someshit by my deleting posts, I don't see the necessity of having all that shit stay there permanently

yeah bob, i think you share too much on FB, BUT, if none of your co-workers are FB friends, they won't see. I can't remember, but that's NOT your actual last name is it? ya know, Bob Schlongmaster?

p.s. bonus points for adding perversion to the thread!(y)
