There's no excuse for any of this. There are plenty of Americans who oppose the war, and have before it even started. There are consistent protests throughout the nation against war, even one a few blocks from my house in a public square...pretty much every weekend.

The majority of us voted for a president we thought would end the war.

We send teenagers to the middle east to kill people. It's fucked up, and not very many people feel good about it. It's a huge country though, and we have 5 times the amount of idiots the UK has. Blaming a whole country for the acts of a few is counterproductive.

I do love america tho. I find the people way more friendly than I do over here when you meet strangers. But then with an accent it maybe a little skewed as you may be more likely to get random stranger attention. The service is way better and their franchised restaurants are way better to. Which as a tourist is the stuff you encounter a lot.

America is big fucking place, and to me if you're finding that a lot of people are starting to become a little uncool it's because you've strayed too far from either cost. They also have a big fucking army, government, social agendas etc which means they probably have the best of those in the world and the worse. A sweet spot might be hit in countries like Norway, Sweden, to some extent France & Germany but they aren't the major world powers. The world does need major powers who have to be dicks sometimes but if they get it wrong they get it wrong for the world, get it right and we don't celebrate it or make it news except for an "and finally". If Norway gets it's wrong or right - who gives a fuck?
