so, my dude is friends with a girl he went to high school with, but really hasn't seen her in years...she sends him christmas cards and has kept up contact. I think she's in love with him. he doesn't. She lives far away and I trust him, so it's not that big of a deal.
however, she keeps requesting my friendship on fb and i keep hitting "ignore". but then another request reappears after a couple of months. wtf?
should I just accept? the boyf says "what's the harm?" and I say "I don't know her and I don't want somebody I don't know all up in my business".
he says "well, it's up to you."
urgh.

it's not really a big deal, unless you're posting everything you do on facebook. i've gotten a few random requests and i accepted them because it makes me look more popular. (y)

I don't accept people I don't know very well...or don't stay in contact with. Am friends with a few of you from here...and people I knew in high school..but most people I talk to often. I don't blame you. I wouldn't friend her.

My ex-ex boyfriend does that to me since 2006 when we broke up and I always say "no", but he doesn't seem to care...
Just block them - you'll never see their request again. Web tools are there for a reason.
I had to deactivate my account, it got hacked - all sorted now but I think when I log back on it's still all there like I never deactivated. Not sure what exactly deactivate does tbh, but it seemed like the right choice other than delete.

Girls are weird like that, they add current girlfriends of ex-boyfriends. Don't accept, she's only jealous and wants to spy on you. Oh yeah, girls are weird, did I mention that?

well, they never dated, but I do think she wants to spy on me...or flip through my pics at least. get a better idea of who I am. that is weird! alright, I'm standing firm on my "no strangers" rule. unless it's a cool stranger.

Yeah, maybe this person who hasn't seen your boyfriend for several years or had contact with him apart from the internet and Christmas cards DOES want to flip through your pictures and learn everything about you! Because she's obviously in love with him, right?!
Or... maybe you're a psycho?

Definitely don't accept the request. She sounds like a stalker.

sure, there's always a way you could spin this against me. I don't feel like arguing.
i wonder why you'd send a friend request more than once. did she think you just forgot?

i ignored a friend request from a girl and she keeps asking me why whenever i happen to see her in person.

Yeah neither do I. You shouldn't even have made this thread, really. Move on.

I don't know, her recent request is just sitting at the top of my mobile feed. just sitting there staring at me. like I said, I've denied it 4 times before...so, maybe this time it'll take.
I mean, it's weird right? that she'd be sitting there thinking..."hmm, let's see if she accepts this time, this stranger I've never met". maybe if she wrote a note like "hey, I'm an old friend of so and so's, we seem to have stuff in common, wanna be internet friends?!"
it's not that big of a deal, guess I was just feeling rude for being annoyed, but most of you guys seem to agree that it's ok for me to deny the request.

That could be rather awkward.

Probably all just smiling and patting each other on the back saying "well done, you did the right thing". :)
