.....the album version of "Here's a Little Something For Ya" can be as good as the remix by DJ Hero. It sounds perfect to me with those drums. It just popped up randomly in my truck on the IPOD and god damn, it's the joint. Ranks right up there with the other classic hip hop trax in my mind. It will be interesting to hear the original.

whew, I'm glad I kept a distance from that one and didn't get too attached. I hope the real version doesn't let you down, p.

pshabi I don't know how familiar you are with The Number Song, but to me it sounded like nothing more than a mash-up; I never got that attached to it since the beat was kind of old news.
I like the loose flow of the rhymes/the filtering on the mics, so I'm definitely eager to hear the song (I never counted it a Tadlock's track for the reason I mentioned above).

I'm down with KP.
It's just the Boys rhyming over The Number Song.
To each his own... But, the DJ Shadow OG Version is Top Dog.

I'm fairly certain that the non-scratch version of the track IS the Beastie Boys original and the scratch version is the remix...

Nein. Non. Niet. Negative. It is an obvious (and very good) mashup of the number songs and HALSFY acapella ;) -- Although I really think the Beastie sounds at their best on top of crazy sampled breakbeats like that

Thank you....
Also, I listened to Numbers Song on youtube a few times and it doesn't seem like they are rhyming straight over that beat to me. Unless I'm trippin', it sounds like he may have sampled his own beat and changed it up a bit. Eh.....whatever.
And I def agree with Senbei.....the bboys are at their finest over breakbeats.

As much as I like it, I highly doubt that's the album version..
I think DJ Shadow would've been listed as a collaborator?
I think the album version will be more along the lines of that funny moogy line during the break..
The DJ shadow one is so genius for the cutting of the lyrics, it takes some lyrics out of the non-scratch version which gives the track a different flavor, kind of changes the meaning of the lyrics

The more I listen to un-edited version, the more I'm agreeing with you. It's quickly becoming one of my fav's.
So far everything from the mini hot sauce EP I have on my ipod is eclipsing everything off TT5B.
Also Mike had really brought his A game to this album.

10th and 11th down from the top of the list.... (Hotlinking directly to tracks is blocked, sorry, but a whole host of mp3 download sites have been hitting us pretty hard.) (Dj pages you can copy that link and it will work, but the other pages not.)

word, I was never aware a non-chopped version of this song surfaced. very cool. Of the 3, I think Mike D's voice is aging the best. He sounds noice on that joint. Diggin the lyrics on that jam as well. yeah, its gonna be tough to top the energy of that production, but it's a bit jerky; a real exercise to follow. whether the beats are up to par is to be seen, but at least it will flow a little smoother (hopefully) come go time.

Not to me.....but the album cut sounds dope too. I just like the bouncy ass beat Shadow brought to it. Either way, I'm ready for the album, that's for sure.

Perjury agree that they are both indeed dope. The Dj hero one is DEF more than just the number son there are samples in it from the real track instrumental, the numbers song and the accapella (and prob some other hit who knows). The new one also sounds dope but I only heard it in the movie theater after ffyrr and the bass was a bit heavy on the speaker system. They were spitting mad fire though. Lol

Anyone know where the clips came from for this video? Would like to see some more raw footage of the best concert I probably ever will experience in my life. From time to time I still watch the DVD that someone on here put together and it gets me hella amped.

Yeah. I feel the same. The Mash Up is cool and all...
But, I've been listening to Endtroducing..... since '96.
I wanna hear new beats behind this song. Maybe if it was a proper remix... But, I'll still prefer the original.

The lyrics are way better on the HSCPT2 version and the break in between 2nd chorus to 3rd verse sounds fucking awesome. One of my favorite parts on the album. They probably realized the potential of this track so they fixed some shit up. I'm just so glad that "waow waow wacka wacka woaw" part is apart of the real track. So awesome.
