back on the bullshit mic made out of plastic?

Just had a listen to the snippets of the new album on youtube, and a lot of tracks feature the distorted vocals a la Check Your Head, and particularly Ill Communication style, where they used cheap mics to produce that distorted and raw sound.

Just an observation.

i was thinking about that too. sounds pretty damn close to the classic 90s distortion. the magic radio shack multi-effects mic may have struck again.

i found an old article earlier about the new album (well, 2009) where they said they just bought loads of shitty mics of ebay. they obviously put them to good use.
