"Zane Lowe played "Tadlock Glasses" on his show. Check the archive at BBC Radio 1 (maybe tomorrow?) to listen to it if you missed it." - Mic to Mic.
Does this mean the full song has been unleashed and will soon be in our digital possession?

If you have satellite radio and have radio1 then I think this will air tonight @7pm EST . That's the way they do it in Canada anyways. If it's the case I will have no means to record it from my car unless I make a voice memo of it on my iPhone

Im tuning into radio1 via satellite radio and the arctic monkeys are on so I know it's the right episode. My friend said that all anyone has to do is get a 7 day trial on their computer, and then record the song from it. It's coming up in one hour so someone hurry up!
I think quality should be good from sattalite, no?

Secondly, this was at one time going to open the album!?

If he is just doing a radio show and talking about music then he is fine, as soon as he interviews someone he obviously likes then he turns into a prick

would have been a fucking stellar opener, track is in a world of it's own, i can see how it would have worked as a kind of intro and segway into b-boys in the cut. still, make some noise will do. very promising!

MCA has never sounded better. He poured his heart and soul into it. But you know just before the cancer crap when they were in Japan he was talking about Hot Sauce to the press and he seemed really excited about the album. I remember him saying that hopefully it would be the album to save the music industry or something like that. Playing or not he was totally stoked!
And I love this song. I love it because they WENT there. They always go there. They could go the easy way out and produce easy rap songs that are radio friendly but no I much prefer their experimentation. It’s why I love them so much in the first place. :D

Tadlock is awesome, the wma rip actually sounds very good.
Make Some Noise brings to mind Maestro, great lead to the greatness yet to come. Tadlock brings to mind Scenario, maybe cause the only versions I have are all hollow sounding, maybe because they each repeat the same verse/chorus, don't know but I do know that Tadlock is sweet, very different, not clean like TT5B, just raw and messy and a little of what's been missing since PB and CYH. Too short though as I fear we will all say Lisa Lisa is based on how good that one sounds.
But alas I'm always left wanting more as most of my favs are the shorter songs; i.e. Hello Brooklyn, Year and a Day, I Want Some etc. Pretty sure Tadlock and Lisa Lisa will be added to this list. Doesn't matter, my guess is the entire album will be a critical/fan success, and it will be ranked amongst their best...PB--CYH--LTI—HSC2--IC--TT5B--HN--TMU--my Nostradamus regarding where this will ultimately rank in my mind.
Brother McDuff
04-12-2011, 12:31 PM
Tadlock's gives me a 'Rhyme the Rhyme Well' feeling. A really sci-fi sounding beat, 3 short verses, a chanty hook that each guy gets a crack at, and just a short overall length.
Strong album cuts have always been the bboys secret ingredient, I think. the strength of Tadlock's definitely ranks among the most promising precursors to HSCP2.
...PB--CYH--LTI—HSC2--IC--TT5B--HN--TMU--

Since silly list's like this are so subjective and as much about life experiences and mental wellness at the time, as much as they are about actual content on the record, this is totally just my guess going into the new album based on 30 sec previews of the new mixes.
Ahead of HN wouldn't take much for me, IC is a different kind of beast though because I still think it's about 5 to 6 tracks heavy, and although it's still pretty fantastic those 5 or 6 if cut would have made that record rank much higher....on my personal list.
I just really like what I'm hearing so far; Yauch is really at the top of his game. Does he say something like "I curse and grab my nuts..." in Tadlock's.....just classic shit.

"big ups on the reverse and faded synths!!"
Whether or not these are reverse faded synths "fuzz-bombed cut (http://pitchfork.com/news/2/)" certainly fits Tadlock's Glasses well.

Listening to Tadlock's Glasses, I instantly thought of Rammellzee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-tZ59NUc2U). Many of the other snippets remind me of old school hip-hop, mostly early 80's shizz (pre ITL). More art based L.E.S. stuff then the stuff coming out of the Bronx or Sugar Hill, but still with old school rhyme patterns (i.e. Nonstop Disco, Powerpack, OK, Long Burn The Fire, Funky Donkey, Crazy Ass Shit, The Lisa Lisa/Full Force Routine), plus some classic 90's distorted B-Boy mic's.
All in all, I'm loving how cool/weird/creative/fresh HSC is sounding!

That's the first thing I thought: Rammellzee and K-Rob's "Beat Bop." Very abstract and opaque hip-hop, and I'll support that purely out of principle whether or not it's banging (which this one is).
If you haven't heard "Beat Bop," go listen to it now.

I think Zane Lowe has had some really interesting / funny interviews with the Beastie Boys, and he seems one of the people they're happy to talk to on the regular. Well, a regular basis for them. He seemed to be one of the few DJ's supporting the Mix Up, which lets be honest, isn't exactly a radio-friendly record.
He can be annoying, and sometimes fickle, but a lot of the time he seems to genuinely love music and the likes of the B-Boys. Keep getting those 'scoops' !
