From Record Store Day website:
Record Store Day is celebrated worldwide, and sometimes special releases are available in one country, but not in another. That’s the case with Beastie Boys’ RSD release, a 7” single for “Make Some Noise/Make Some Noise (Passion Pit remix)”. It couldn’t get into US stores in time, but the band wanted to benefit a good cause and make some US based peeps happy at the same time, so in a very rare move, www.recordstoreday.com will be selling an extremely small amount of these 7” singles online, with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross Japan Relief fund. These bad boys will go on sale the morning of Record Store Day, April 16, at 6 AM Eastern.
Special rules will apply to this sale on www.recordstoreday.com:
*Sales will be made to US physical addresses only
*One “Make Some Noise” 7” single per order
*One order per household.
Look for more information on www.recordstoreday.com on Record Store Day at 6 AM Eastern. This is a very unusual thing for us to do, as Record Store Day is dedicated to supporting the physical record stores who participate. However, along with Beastie Boys, we found ourselves in a position to make some folks happy while raising much-needed funds. We could not pass it up.

Record Store Day last year was an absolute blast. Drove around for hours trying to get copies of the "Super Surprise 12" (http://www.flickr.com/photos/37445525@N04/4529572093/) " managed 2 copies. (Record shops in my area are pretty rare now)
Pro Tip: 2 out of three shops had no clue or lied.
Shop 1, had RSD promo CD's but no RSD releases. Didn't know they had to sign up to receive releases.
Shop 2, Awesome, had the goods, and bunches of freebies, (Stickers, shirts, etc.) They were awesome!
Shop 3, an hour after they opened, said they sold out of ALL of their record store releases of EVERYTHING. But also had NOTHING RSD related in store, or on their site. (I think they e-bay'd whatever they did get in.)
So the tip is, Make sure to plan to hit more than one store if you're going out for anything that will be an in-store item this year. Go Go Google maps!
This years list seems WAY bigger than last year's list of releases.
Good luck grabbing the Make Some Noise vinyl guys/girls.
In store it's looking like this for me.
Roy Orbison
Only The Lonely (mono)/Oh, Pretty Woman (live from Holland)
7" 45
RHCP / Ramones
Havana Affair
7" 45
Peter Tosh
Legalize It b/w Equal Rights
7" 45
Dio
Killing The Dragon
Numbered, Hologram Sticker, Poly Sleeve, Picture Vinyl. Full album.
Buck Owens
Close Up The Honky Tonks/My Heart Skips A Beat
7" 45

I (think) I got mine. My shipping and home address are different and I couldn't figure out how to change my billing address so I just put it in the "special instructions" spot. I hope it worked. Then I sent a follow up e-mail. [crosses fingers]

Paul's Boutique on CD (Remastered)
Check Your Head on CD (Remastered)
Hello Nasty on CD (original or remastered)
The Sounds of Science Anthology CD

I woke up in shock realizing that I f*cked up! looked at the clock hoping it was still early...7:58am...crap...by the time I tried to buy it was 8:03am EST it said error...I said "F*ck"
Lessen learned: the only reason even the nice blond Bartender is giving you the "smiles" bla bla... she really just wants a nice tip. Which she did because she seems to always leave one drink off the tab.
I had to get friend to pick me up from the bar. I got home set my alarm for 8:30am because I though "hey that will be plenty of time to get sober and get to work"...totally forgetting that I wanted to buy the 7"
As soon as I opened my eyes I Knew I forgot! Please hook me up with an extra! PM please

Just eBay it. It's not our fault your a doucher that forgot that it went on sale at 6am.

Can someone, other than micodic, verify that "a pathetic Herb" is a legit insult or a even a way to describe someone? Is that commonly used in anyone elses vernacular, really?
Micodin, maybe you didn't understand the reason I wrote the post. This should help elevate your concern, with regards to how I sound.
If the releases are identical I will sell one of them at cost to whomever has the best sob story about how they got screwed out of getting one... RSD is out of them at 8:00.
bigfatlove was being nice by offering a fellow Beastie fan his extra. I would rather sound like a dork then pay extremely high "pathetic herb" prices on ebay.
_____________^^^^^^^^ that's how I would use those words next to each other.

Herb:
1. (noun) Nerd; dork; geek; generally uncool person. Originated in early 1980s Burger King ad campaign in which a nerd named HERB was featured. The term was subsequently embraced by the hip hop generation.

Sorry dude, getting hammered and missing the on-line sale doesn't exactly qualify as a compelling story.
The winner via PM is a board member who sent this:
"I am a midget. I don't want to assume that you are not also a midget, but based on the context of your previous posts, I am willing to bet that you are not. Only a midget can appreciate the humiliation involved with not being able to reach the 7" single display. The shame associated with having to ask for help from my local purveyor to procure my limited edition single erstwhile giant aggressive height conscious people rape me of the fruits of my preparation has made me question my place in this world; and ultimately, whether or not we will ever live in a world where a midget can get a record."

anyone?
I'm not for name calling on message boards but I have done it, and herb is pretty light compared to some of the stuff dropped around here.
Anywho, yes I can back that herb was a dissed term used in late 80's early 90's hip-hop. EPMD, 3rd Bass and maybe even De La Soul come to mind as group's that dropped it in lyrics.
As far as your little verbal tiff... K.I.M. (that's Keep It Moving if you don't speak early 90's hip-hop vernacular). ;)

That's all I was trying to say.
I set my alarm at 5:45, got all my info in and waited. Refreshed and waited. Until after 6 there was finally a link.
I'm a true collector of vinyl and last year at RSD just like the rest of the nice people on the board I was at the local record shop at the crack ass of dawn looking for the Mystery White Label. (I snagged 2 by the way).
If you really wanted to participate in the fun of RSD and getting the rare chance of copping some rare vinyl. Get your priorities in check.
