Real life Beastie song situations

e.g. type in your stories when beastie boys songs have come into play in social situations or things like that...

--yesterday i was playing some music with some buddies at a beach next to some people a few years older than us whom we didn't know...so we're taking a break so one of the guys in the group of people next to us said he would put on his radio while we were on a break, so he turns it tot he local rock station, and then all of a sudden No sleep till brooklyn comes on, and we hear the boys go "No Sleep Till"... and then myself (being a huge fan) yell "BROOKLYN"! and at the same time, the other dude did too, it was really quite a cool thing, i love meeting other beasties fans;...feel free to post other stories of a similar fashion :)

I posted a really long story here in the spring about a BB-related
thing that happened, but I'll summarize it again here.

My son went on a hiking trip in May and got injured. I heard about this
via a broken-up cell phone call from his friends. I had to drive to him to
pick him up, but I only knew the road but not where, exactly, he'd be.

The road, deep in the country, was long and I wasn't sure whether to
go east or west to start out. I chose a direction and went. I was driving
for awhile when it occurred to me that--because the road was
twisty, skinny, & without shoulders--he would have to be waiting back
a ways from the side of the road and that maybe I might have passed him
before he could make it to me.

So I put on the bassiest song I had with me--the Hello Brooklyn portion
of B-Boy Bouillabaisse. I blasted it loud with the bass full up and the
windows down.

Maybe a couple dozen iterations of Hello Brooklyn later, I got to the top
of a hill and saw my kid ahead, limping to the side of the road. He had his
cell phone turned on so that I could see its glow and he was waving me
down.

The first thing he said to me was something like, "I heard you coming
for a long time before I saw you."

And I HAD passed him before that but he couldn't hobble over to the
side of the road quickly enough to flag me down, so this technique worked.

(But I joked that the farmers in that area must have thought that a
drive-by was happening--big bass going back and forth along this 50-mile
stretch of quiet, country road. :D)

well, believe it or not, eight or nine years ago i was pulled over by a cop while i was listening to 'high plains drifter' - and i got pulled over immediately after i heard the lyrics 'i'm seeing blue and red flashing deep in the night, i got my alibi straight and i pulled over to the right'. at the moment there was no blue lights - the cop was without a car, standing by the road, but it was a nighttime.

Yeah that has happened to me too and one time i turned the televeision on and said i'm in the mood to see the "Fight For Your Right(To Party)" music video and sure enough they showed it on "MuchMusic" "MuchOnDemand". (y)

Yeah Green Day. How was that by the way?
Well my friend was getting a lift home with someone on her soccer team and her older brother, and her brother put in a CD and said "You girls probably won't know these singers but this is such a sick song." He pressed play and she heard "What's the time? It's time to get ill?" And she was like "Oh my god, it's Time to Get Ill by the Beastie Boys!" She told me about it the next day, as I was the one who got her hooked on the boys. I love hearing about other Beastie fans as well!
