Okay so kind of a pointless observation but i notice that in The Brouhaha MCA says "don't carry a knife and I don't carry a gun" but in The New Style he goes "And in case you're unaware I carry a gun"

so which is it, huh? HUH?

Oh, that's easy. The Brouhaha is 2005, the New Style is 1986. Somewhere in between he stopped carrying a gun. Although the first time he insists this (Hello Nasty - "I don't like to fight, I don't carry a piece, I wear a permanent press so I'm always creased") is in '98 I'm pretty sure he stopped carrying one earlier on. He has one up to '89 in Paul's Boutique ("I got the jammy but I don't got the permit") but I don't think he mentions having one or not having one in Check Your Head or Ill Communication, so the exact time between 89 and 98 when he stopped carrying a gun is ambiguous (although I would expect once he got into the Free Tibet near IC he wouldn't have one), unless someone knows a quote I don't. Anyone?

So, he stopped wearing a gun in 92, during the making of a video

But hey, maybe then he started wearing a sledgehammer! :D

its summed up in the first two lyrics of The Scoop

I Don't get Blind Most Of The Time I Don't Drink Wine
I Took A Sledge Hammer And I Broke My Nine

or from Resolution Time

Threatening and challenging nature against nation
Walkin' down the road of total annihilation
Sprouting threats is insecure
Guns are for the fighting and they're immature

or from right right now now

Trajectories from the past are taking their toll and
What we do now is future moulding
Columbine bowling, childhood stolen
We need a bit more gun controlling

or from that's it that's all

Well I don't shoot blanks and I don't shoot lead

and then there is the new style t-shirt with the broken ak-47

i think its pretty safe to say yauch is not a fan of guns anymore

Aha! So, as evidenced on Ill Communication he dropped the gun as early as '92, during the Check Your Head period. That shouldn't be a surprise, given their newly adopted buddhist/pacifist leanings on that album - they dropped their "hard" image completely and became the Maestros.
