I'm really sorry if this has already surfaced, I have tried looking for a similar thread, but no luck.

On the credits for TT5B one of the credits goes out to the "Assistant to the regional manager" are the B-Boys fans of the UK version of The Office? If they are they should get in touch with Ricky Gervais, he'd probably take them for series two of Extras! :)

haha, shit, that's a good point! But it might be honest and not a joke so, I dunno :p

The Beasties on Extras would be hella cool though.

I'm sure it is. Yauch even said on the boards that he was doing the Comic Relief dance, with the kicks and everything!

Also, in Triple Trouble, Adrock says "Adrock, AKA" except the AKA is in a British accent which sounds a lot like Gervais' "AKA" in episode 1 of the office. That could just be coincidence though.

Yeah, me and my friends used to always quote that line, so as soon as I heard it in Triple Trouble, I immediately thought back to Ricky lol

I remember a radio show they did before the 5 Boroughs dropped. It was a British show. They asked the Boys who was working on the album with them and Yauch said, "Gareth from Slough".

It was great. The Office is my fav show of all time. Ricky Gervais is doing a weekly podcast with Stephen Merchant and Karl. Yous should check it out... You can find it on rickygervais.com

Evaluation of these "postmodern" comedies

Spaced = funny as hell
Phoenix Nights = brilliant
Royle Family and Early Doors = genius
O##ice = hulking pile of turd.

"Cringe" comedy is the crappest form of humour. The Office is like Coldplay, I don't see how anyone could like either its just that they dont wanna be left out. Go watch Shaun of the Dead, that proper British comedy, not some fat twat acting like a dick in an "ironic becasue its like a documentary" type shit.

To be fair, I'd have nothing against it ordinarily, its just not my cup of tea, its just the fans are so smug and superior.

same boat as me mate. I can't stand the office. Cringe comedy is so uncomfortable to watch.

What did you think of Nathan Barley on C4? Did you catch it? I thought it was good, but scarily I saw a bit of myself in him (i'm a snooty designer too)

I caught the episode of Nathan Barley with the haircut. That was pretty good, and when the bearded guy was blagging about wines.

Mark S, ragdoll 92 and me, discopants, the man with the red trouser hereby make a stand against The O##ice. I'm gonna run up stickers saying "Watch the Young Ones, you tossers".

pssht, hating on the office is not cool, it's one of the better TV shows ever made, with excellent writing and a brilliant story arc. And it's just so real.

This may also surprise you, but it's actually a love story at heart, not a comedy.

I don't hate the Office to be cool and I don't deny it's clever and well made, I just don't find it funny, its just its fans really get on my tits.

the thing about the office is that people can relate to it, they remember crappy bosses they have had in the past and cringe when he comes out with typical cheesy lines:

“What is the single most important thing for a company? Is it the building? Is it the stock? Is it the turnover? It’s the people, investment in people. My proudest moment here wasn’t when I increased profits by 17%, or cut expenditure without losing a single member of staff. No. It was a young Greek guy, first job in the country, hardly spoke a word of English, but he came to me and he went ‘Mr. Brent, will you be the Godfather to my child?’.
Didn’t happen in the end. We had to let him go, he was rubbish. He WAS rubbish” - Brent

“He’s thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?” - Gareth

“It’s like an alarm clock’s gone off, and I’ve just got to get away. I think it was John Lennon who said: “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.”, and that’s how I feel. Although he also said: “I am the Walrus I am the eggman” so I don’t know what to believe.” - Tim

ooh a reference from the office to beasties (eggman) lol looks like a two-way street (joking!!)

That is the biggest reach I have seen here in a while.
