My close friend has all (3) of the Beastie Boys Nigri/Bathing Ape dolls brand new in the box. He actually worked with the group and is now considering selling them. I realize they are extremely rare and was just wondering what the people on the board thought they were worth.
I appreciate sarcasm just as much as the next person as I am a native New Yorker but if you want to reply with some cheesy comment, please try your best to refrain.
Thank you in advance to all...

It depends on how badly he really wants to get rid of them. He could put a starting price tag of around 500 bucks and I'm sure that they would go but not sure on how much they would get up to. Or he could put a $1000 starting bid on them and they would probably be bid on after relisting them several times.

Like anything else they are only worth what someone is willing to pay

I started collecting Beastie Boy records this past year on Ebay and I've always had my eye on these action figures for when I complete collecting the records.
Only problem is the insane prices since Ebay is one of the only places you can find them. I would be willing to pay a few hundred dollars for one in perfect condition but people never seem to start the auctions low, just right at $1000 :(
To be honest though they're not worth those high prices even if they are collector items.

I seem to remember them being at the US$1000 mark as well. Maybe they started at US$300 on ebay but I doubt they stayed at that price. I would have snapped one up straight away otherwise.
I picked up my set a few years later.
I do remember around the time that Hello Nasty dropped I was going to japan for the first time and there were rumours that there were some figures/dolls of the band created and they came with a sardine can and that these were to be promo sets only released in japan. I looked high and low but to no avail. The figures came out later but were available to buy at super high prices.
That same trip I did have the opportunity to pick up the Money Mark vinyl killer and passed it up for a Parrapa-The-Rappa version. Been regretting that decision ever since.
Ah yeah, and why does the thread say "Nigri"? I think you mean "Nigo".
