I make something like paella and never follow a recipe or measure anything. Use however much onion, garlic, veggies and spices as you like.
Ingredients list:
olive oil
fresh white fish fillets rinsed and pat dry
one of those bags of saffron yellow rice
diced onion (advice is a whole medium-sized yellow onion)
(soy sausage crumbled up if you want)
mashed garlic (advice is two cloves)
balsamic vinegar (advice is 1 tablespoon)
blend of spices like paprika, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, salt, pepper (experiment with different flavors) (advice is to total a tablespoon)
various chopped veggies, raw and/or frozen (advice is peas, bell peppers, broccoli)
14 oz. can diced tomatoes drained- liquid reserved
frozen mussles
First heat some olive oil in a wide shallow pan on medium high and sear the fish chunks on both sides. they don't need to be cooked through, just made brown and sort of crispy on the outsides. Then remove the fish from the pan and put it on a plate.
Next add the flavors. Lower the heat to medium or medium low and saute the onions until they're brown. Add the mashed garlic (and the soy sausage crumbles if you wanted) and cook until its brown. Add the dry rice mix with its seasonings, and add your own spice blend. Stir and saute until everything is coated in spices but don't burn the rice.
Next deglaze the pan. Add some balsamic vinegar and the amount of water called for on the rice package (this is where I use the liquid drained from the can of tomatoes, which I add water to, to total the needed amount) pouring it in slowly as you turn up the heat to get it to simmer. Scrape the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon as you stir in the water.
Once it is bubbling add your veggies (if you use a lot of frozen veggies they will add a lot of water to the dish but that's okay, just use less than the rice package calls for, in the previous step, or not, whatever) and the chopped tomatoes and a dash of salt. Stir and cover. Simmer over low for like 5 mins.
Add the fish chunks and cover and simmer over low for another 5 mins.
Add your frozen mussles that have been rinsed but not thawed. Cover and simmer over low for another 10 mins. or until thoroughly hot and most of the liquid has absorbed.
You don't have to use mussels, and You could use tofu instead of fish chunks.

After making this post yesterday it made me crave this. So I made it last night with what I had on hand; frozen fish. I heated oil in the pan, added water from a small can of olives plus some lime juice and white wine venegar and some water and brought it to a boil, added the frozen fish and covered and cooked it for a bit. This poaches the fish.
I toasted spices in a pan (1/2 tsp each chili powder, cumin, paprika, pepper, salt) plus a dash of cayenne. I added them to the fish and stuff with a cup of 10-minute quick brown rice, some frozen onion and bell pepper chunks, and the canned olives. I covered it all and simmered it on low for about 10 minutes, checking to see when the rice was soft and the fish cooked through. There was a lot of liquid still in there but that was okay. I served it in wide shallow bowls. It was yummy. It wasn't very spicy but maybe a little salty. I like salty. I had meant to add garlic but forgot it.

Nuzzolese: That sounds really yummy. Great job but it is unfair to describe such a delicious meal and not post a photo of the plate.

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures and now it's all eaten. It doesn't look especially impressive, just a soupy bowl of reddish-gold rice, veggies and fish.

Not my creation but tried it and loved it!
GOOBER BURGER
1 bun
1 cooked burger (thin steak burgers are the best)
1-2 TBSP melted peanut butter
mayo
lettuce
tomato
Place burger on bottom of bun. Spread mayo on top bun. Spread peanut butter onto burger and then top with lettuce, tomato and top bun.
Personally I don't use the tomato or lettuce and I use a lot more peanut butter. Super filling and really delicious.

Broccamoli.....
Like Guacamole, only Avocado's were like $3 each, and were way small. So..
Broccoli
Sour Creme
Lemon Juice
Salt
Worcestershire sauce (Just a bit)
Blender
Brought it to a Family get-together. It's still brought up in conversation.
===========
I'm sure other people do this also, but it's quick and good.
Any kinda of pasta (Angel hair is what I use)
Cook Pasta, then drain
Tons o' Butter
Garlic salt
Eat.
(Variations include adding, cheese, sausage, or those hot dogs that are filled with cheese sliced up.)

Never thought of steaming it first, then letting it cool. It was raw, and the blender seemed to have a hard time with it. So next time I'll try the steam. Rice cooker has a steam tray, have never used the steam thing.

Ah cool, I hope my random inspiration proves fruitful for you. Although I do think once cooled it will blend to a watery mush and you might end up with a sloppy dip.
Keep us informed (y)
Btw, 'sloppy dip', what an unfortunate word grouping there...haha :D

take a bunch of butter and put in some lemon pepper seasoning.
melt that shit in a microwave safe bowl.
get a whole bunch of chicken and lather that shit with one of those things that looks like a paintbrush- both sides.
put that shit in the oven for about 45 minutes. halfway in, flip that shit and apply some more buttered seasony goodness to taste.
while this is happening, cook up some pasta. pick any damn kind according to how you eat pasta.
voila, that's lemon pepper chicken with pasta, bitches.

Could I also make lemon pepper beef? I'm not a chicken person. I like lemon, pepper, and pasta though.

So I'm a cook at a restaurant atm and have been doing some pretty basic plating that ya'll might be interested in making for someone that'd look sexy on a plate.
cut the skin off of a washed potato, you should get get four oval shaped cuts, do this w 4 potatoes (16 skins). Throw them in a frying pan w a bit of Oil, until they brown up, throw some cheese and green onions/ bacon on 'em and you've got a tasty app.
A great plate of nachos includes chicken or beef (or veg.) green onion, tomato, jalapeno, and black olives. I like to throw bbq or a spicy thai sauce on 'em and layer the hell out of it (only way to make nachos). pan fryed mushrooms are great on everything.
Enough of things that will give you a heart attack, my favorite breakfast when I get up is to toast some bread, throw on chipoltle mayo, cheddar cut from a cheese block, lettuce, tomato, cut carrots (gives it a serious crunch!) and anything else veg that u like.
Back to things that will give u a heart attack: a wrap with fries, bacon, cheddar, drowned in gravy all wrapped up!

cook up about a cup of quinoa w/ 2 cups of veggie broth
once quinoa is almost done and broth is absorbed, add a can of diced tomatoes, and a can (rinsed and drained) of black beans, plus dried herbs/spices:
oregano
sage
thyme
paprika
chile powder
cayenne powder
chipotle powder
pepper
garlic
onion
cook about 5-10 minutes on medium heat, stirring often until heated through.
from there, you can mix up the add-ins. i like:
green onions
frozen corn (rinse and add at the very end)
diced roasted red pepper (wash and carefully dry a red bell pepper, put it directly over flame, turning every minute or two with tongs, until nice and blackened. it's going to crackle like crazy, just let it go. then put it in a paper bag and shut it and leave it be for about 15-20 minutes, then rub it down with paper towels to get the black gunk off. remove stem and seeds as normal.)
sauteed veggie sausage pieces
cilantro
other yummy mexican stuff
it also makes a great filling for hollowed-out bell peppers.
i do a similar thing with italian flavors and spaghetti sauce filling. just plop a bunch of the cooked innards in with cooked quinoa, marinara/cooked tomatoes of your choosing plus italian herbs and flavorings (tons of garlic of course) into the hollowed-out spaghetti squash halves and you have a nice rustic presentation for a super hearty and healthy meal. you'll poop like a champ for days.

Elbow macaroni with butter, salt, parmesan cheese, and bacon bits. (:
Also, Garden rotini (the 3 colors) boil first
Soak in mayo to give the noodles moisture and flavor
Add slice sweet pickles, red and green sweet peppers, shredded chicken, cheddar cheese cubes, and shredded carrots, to make the absolute best pasta salad you could imagine.

even though im not italian, i am from NY so I know how to make sauce. Here er goes;
2 large cans of crushed tomato
4 cans of tomato paste (theyre pretty small)
5 cloves of garic chopped
4 stalks of celery
1 small yellow onion
3 tbs of extra virgin olive oil
approx 1 pint of pino grigo
spices (I use black pepper, garlic powder, oregano and one chicken bolluon cube)
oil and garlic in frying pan. set aside.
put onion and celery in food processor or cut really fine
drop chicken cube in pino, crush
open all cans throw them in crockpot make sure they are mixed *important*
mix all the shit together, ue the pino/chicken cube mix to thin it a bit because it will be really thick. may not use whole pint.
