Black People and Umbrellas

I have noticed a disproportional number of black people with umbrellas vs. whites and hispanics in my area. Whats up with that?

As per Roby in her post entitled "90% of the people I know are racists," I am of African decent being half Brazilian. Am I required to purchase an umbrella?

I'm part Indian and never use an umbrella. Mainly because they are too much trouble to open, close and cart around.

I never see many Indians carrying umbrellas either.

What is the real ratio? Was this a scientific survey? Are you sure you're not just noticing black people and then notice they have umbrellas? Is it raining a lot and you live in a black neighbourhood?

it's because they don't want to get their hair wet. it'll frizz up. I have curly hair, and I straighten my bangs...if they get wet, they look like shit. so i always have my umbrella when it rains.
