I was listening to 101.9 here in NY earlier and they said to tune in @ 1:20pm for an interview with the Beastie Boys. I forgot to tune in, but i just checked the site and the interview is up. It's only Adrock and Mike D tho and is about 7 minutes long.
Scroll down a bit til you see "Matt's Podcasts", and under that you'll see Audio and the Beastie Boys listed first.

Tom and Alex were the last people I expected to ask about the tour, since it inevitably raises the health thing. I was glad to hear something (anything) on the issue.

great stuff. solid interviewers there. significant questions, personable demeanor.
Mike sounds like he's still 27 years old, not just in voice but in spirit. Good energy comin' from his end. :)(y)

It's always funny to hear him pronounce the words "controversy" and "actually" in interviews.

It's crazy how all the typical Beastie singles always seems so spontaneous and effortless. MSN, Check it out, Intergalactic, Sure Shot.. they always describe their creation process with that easy "it kinda happened on its own on a boring afternoon" way

So true. I was watching that NME interview again and Yauch was talking about one of the tracks and he was like "yeah it just kinda came up in the sequence room one day and that's how that got on there." Funny they don't even realize their own genius but that's because they don't have to. It just happens. ;)

Amusing interview from Switzerland :)
Main points:
- At the beginning of HSC: They started experimenting with new sounds and music in the studio. Then they decided that the new sound/tracks need some vocals. And since they are MCs, they wrote some lyrics to their new sound. Done.
- The album is very punk-influenced. The format may be Hip-Hop, but the attitude and energy is punk, says Mike Dino.
- Being asked if they feel old, Ad-Rock responded: “You cant look forward without looking back. Except in those bathrooms with mirrors in the front AND in the back. There you can look into the future, the past AND the present at the same time. I like those bathrooms.”
- The kids on Crazy Ass Shit are Mike’s kids. Because of the explicit nature of the title (both the name and the lyrics) the kids don’t know the name of the song. They just know it as “the song they’re on”.
- If you ask Mike’s kids about the BBoy’s musical output they only know and love three songs: “The song they’re on”, Brass Monkey, because they think it’s a story about a monkey and Intergalactic because they like the music video.
- They are conducting some crazy genetic experiments for their next video. Apparently they want to crossbreed with bats.
- Their next goal is a country-grammy
