OK is pure Adrock.

I have never been so obsessed with the word OK until I heard Horovitz say it. :o

now I could be mistaken, but I coulda sworn that "OK" was one of the titles listed on that dry-erase board in the O-scope lounge picture that surfaced on the O-Scope website back around the time TT5B was being recorded (or after it had come out). and that was around the time of Chappelle's peak, right?

it's a longshot, but maybe a connection, I guess.

does anyone still have that picture?

Yes definatly ! I do remember that bunch of songs. Id love to find those pics, the crab rappers etc. Be good to see if any other songs from there are on the album.

I think MIke said on the triple J show that the MSN hook was the last thing they added to the song.

I totally agree you CAN'T play it loud enough! "OOKAAAY!!!" "Yeah yeah right right-OK!" Blame it on AdRock, these are now my 2 favorite phrases! AdRock is so at his game-on BEST with this song! Fierce and fun as only Horovitz can do it!!!:p(y)

Could it have been on another song?

They probably already had the idea for the hook(considering it's a reference to some sample they played live when they did IAWGM) then just threw it in there. I'm assuming that the extra hook(party on the left) was added during the conversion to HSCP2 since it's not there in the Z-trip mix and the passion pit remix (depending on when that was made).

In one of the interviews (can't remember which one now) they said it was a Cars homage. I think they also said that Ric Ocasek said he was trying to steal they're ideas, or something goofy!

This is definetely an early favorite, and for me, it feels like the gateway to the rest of the album, like the St Louis Arch...
I get really happy when it comes on and then get really hyped to hear the rest of the album. Admittedly though I'm old school and have been only listening to it straight through.

MSN is awesome, but sortta like CIO on TT5B, it's firmly its own thing, maybe even more so with the movie & all. & it & NDP could be yet another single & b-side release for the massive lead single.
But when I hear OK! my brain gets it through it's thick skull that I am listening to the album, and it is AWESOME!

Love this song, admittedly for a weird reason!

:D
