Wal-Mart brings back gun sales
The move is just the latest sign that executives are returning to the company's roots after recent failed efforts to appear more upscale.

I don't understand this statement. Upscale? What is this implying, that wealthy people don't buy guns? that's niave. Or simply the absence of guns in the stores will raise the status of the company?

NRA boss: 'Big gun' states will toss Obama

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/politics/politico/RSS_POLITICO20110429_NRA_boss___Big_gun__states_wi ll_toss_Obama.html

Ahead of the NRA convention that kicks off today, the leader of the group predicts President Barack Obama will be defeated in 2012 – and the “big gun and hunting” states are going to deliver the fatal blow.

“The truth is this election is going to be decided in all the big gun and hunting states,” Wayne LaPierre, the National Rifle Association’s executive vice president and CEO, told POLITICO.

I wonder how many of these gun toting Obama(socialist) hating states are now asking for Federal help with the storms/fires ravaging the mid-west/south.

Last I checked Obama hasn't done shit against the 2nd Amendment even in the light of a Dem Senator almost getting assassinated.

Looks more like a push to boost gun sales in a dragging economy - business as usual built on fear.

Yeah, I get that. Walmart is trying to cash in. But why would anyone have ever made the assumption that Walmart would be high class as long as they didn't sell guns? You can put a dress on a pig, it's still a pig.

I thought walmart stopped selling guns because of the pressure they received after columbine. do they assume people have gotten over it? Aren't they worried about people refusing to shop there if they sell guns?
And I'm pretty sure it hasn't been that long since they stopped selling ammo.
Everyone was so worried that Obama's presidency meant the end of owning or at least buying guns, but nothing has changed.

They just want to cash in on fear. I read an article that said Walmart sales are down due to a rough economy- on the cusp of a Presidential election I'm suuuuure the opposition will be pushing the 2nd Amendment meme again which if all goes well equal sales for gun vendors who sell cheap.

This has NOTHING to do with hunting season, it has nothing to do with increased crime - it is all about cashing in on a political ideology...

all i know is that the NRA convention is going on just a few miles away from my house and they are allowed to bring their guns with them.

so basically we have 65,000 people downtown carrying at least one weapon

and walmart sucks balls
