Can't believe this shit is over 10 years old. Listening for the first time in about 7 years and it's still fresh as fuck. This was the height of underground and the curtain call of Golden Age hip-hop. Legendary shit.

Lyricist Lounge II was a decent album too...not as good as Soundbombing, but worth checking out for sure.
Soundbombing III, on the other hand...is trash.

DJ Spinna's Heavy Beats Vol. 1 is another classic, almost on SB2's level (but not quite). SB1 was OK, but 2 shits all over it and 3 was a joke like you said.

Beat Junkies represented on that shit. It was definately the at tail end of the whole Rawkus hey day though. In the late 90s I used to buy just about every 12" they put out and then Rawkus just kind of fell off. In retrospect it almost felt like the main stream of underground. I do vividly remember buying Mos Def's first 12" though thinking I was onto some underground shit.

I bought everything that Nervous put out on 12" and they fell off... Then I moved on to Rawkus.
