Mike D confirmed on triple j that there is another batch of songs that are going to be released as HSCP1. Let's start theorizing: will it be released as another full album, will they release it in a more unconventional way, will they wait a few months to put it out or are we going to be waiting until 2012 or later?

Personally, I'm not sure when we'll see it or what form it'll be in when it's released, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're holding it until MCA's got the go ahead to go on the road again and they're ready to tour.

After hearing Part Two I can not wait for Part One. Mike says around 35 songs were done when working on the Hot Sauce's. Surely a lot of gold there.

well, whatever it is, I sure hope they choose to develop the songs as far along as HSCP2. meaning, as we all know they ended up putting extra work into the HSCP2 songs once it was delayed, and obviously brought in Zdar as well.

I hope they decide to go back over Part 1 and fill the songs out with more production and with Zdar at the mixing board, rather than just toss them out in the shape it appears Part 2 was originally in. It's hard to say, from what we heard of the original part 2 (when it was part 1), it sounded a whole lot less "complete" by way of production, and definitely less exciting mix-wise than the final product we've come to know.

that is unless they already revisited/mixed them along with the others a couple months ago.

shit, it's exciting already having another album to ponder about while the new one isn't even officially out yet. :p

I've always had this idea that they would do some kind of charity event with the extra material. Say they partner up with a few charities and set-up a donation page on their website. When you make a minimum donation of say $10 through the Beastie website to one of the charities, the Beasties send you a CD-R copy (or download link) for HSC1. They give, we give, it's win-win. This won't stop torrents, but I bet more people would donate if the Beastie Boys were to write Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 on the CD-R.

I'd assume that they've been remixed already, I don't see why they'd bring Zidar in only to work on half of the material they had, especially when it's clear they'd already been thinking about dividing it up into two albums. The fact that the HSCP2 retooling didn't consist of any new tracks makes me think they've always had a clear distinction which material would be used on which part, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have another batch of mixed songs ready to be sequenced and mastered. Or at least I hope so - it's cool to think that they have this nearly finished album ready to release whenever they want.

I think the next album will have Mix Master Mike, Money Mark, and Biz Markee and not sound at all like HSC2, and it will come out 2012! Just a hunch but an educated hunch

Is this a good idea? It'd be nearly impossible to top HSC2!!!

I think that's where the part 2, or 1 (gosh these numbers are confusing! :o) title would work in their favor. they're not expected to be better joints than these, as long as they are equal. and given the fact that they were all made together in the same sessions, I'm sure they are up to par. also, the fact that they knew early on that it was gonna be split up into two, i''m sure their song selections were carefully chosen and balanced between the two. at least one would think so.

actually, while we're at it, maybe we should start a list about what we actually do know about the second installment.

1) may contain a 'fart-spray cologne' rhyme

2) biz markie is a possible guest

3) contains the bob dylan radio show sample

what else?

My idea is that the songs for part 2 are even better or like you mentioned "just as good." They seem really hungry to put out a stellar rap album and tour, and do it all.. The fact that Ad-Rock said that once MCA is well they plan to be all over the place just excites the hell out of me! :p

if a tour ends up happening after the release of the second album, they're gonna have a large new arsenal of jams to pull from. another gala type tour wherein they do the hits one night, but do a full set of hot sauce material for the second night. that would be fresh.

I don't think it will be out for a while.. atleast until this one dies down a little bit. If they get a summer smash, the PART ONE probably wont come out til next spring..

we will hear/see it in 15 months...
That was the timetable slated between the 2009 HSCp1 and the OG HSCp2. Part # got flipped and cancer/road to recovery happened, but the timetable will stay the same.
