It's a great album. The deluxe pre-order thing was a slight pain but I just got it off iTunes, couldn't resist trying it out in (close to) original part one form. I guess I just like the flow a bit better, and being a fan of B-Boys in the Cut and Tadlock's as an opener makes sense to me. Question is, do I resort to the o.g cover too? Ahh the modern age, being able to fuck about with albums...

Yeah, I purchased those two tracks from iTunes last night. They are a nice little bonus. I'll have to try the HSC1 playlist out on my ipod tonight. I'll even throw the original Too Many Rappers in there.

do it! all that's really missing is the burndt cake skit. it just sounds right to me. then again, if i'd never known the original track-listing and hadn't wanted to hear b-boys in the cut finalized and at the start of the album for so many months, would i give a fuck? it's probably the only time something like that has happened with an album i've anticipated (as in the re-tooling). i just can't get into the new TMR, so it suits me to the ground.

I completely agree with this but I would have liked to have heard a proper recording of the original Too Many Rappers. Seems like the rips and even the MP3 store downloads felt flat and I don't think it was necessarily the production.

that's true. it could sound better. in an ideal world - for me - there would be a zdar mix of the original version, as well as the new one. to me, the original has a solid beat with the lyrics pushed to the front. the new one is out there and all that, but the break (with the bass) sounds out of place. my opinion.
