Has any other band ever made a music video full of movie stars like the Beastie Boys did with 'Make Some Noise'? Personally I have never seen one like it. I am just curious because IMO it was brilliantly done and more musicians need to make "movie/music" videos! Great job Beastie Boys, it is now my favorite Beastie Boys video.

I hope nobody else does it because Beasties just need to own that all by themselves. Plus I doubt anybody else could get a cast like that anyway! I know Moby had multiple celebs in his "We are all made of stars", but actually most of them in his video were all B-Listers so I guess that doesn't count! :p

Sure they have. I just can't remember who, but I know it has been done in the past.

Hanna Montana - Best of both Worlds Relived

Several actors are involved in it. Being the huge Miley Cyrus fan I am I know a good amount about it. Some of the names include Jim Carrey, Pauli Shore, Billy Crystal, Dave Chappelle, Johnny Depp, Antonio Banderas, Osis Porosis, Jerry Seinfeld, Will Smith, Michael Cera and many many more. It includes several musicians including Bek Campbell, Marshall Mathers, Carlton Douglas Ridenhour, Daft Punk and a mass more.

Billy Ray wasn't in it because he was in a coma. Will Smith plays Hanna and Paulie Shore plays Miley and they both lip sing to her song Make Some Noise while switching off.

It wasn't on regular TV because it was very explicit so it was only available on HBO.

I love the edited-down, 'music video' version of the film. It covers superficially what it should to make an entertaining music video, and on that I rank it highly in their catalogue.

The 30 minute format feels all wrong for the level of detail, though. Like it's stretched out without offering more. I would rather it were 90 minutes so we could see and feel the little world that was created.

It's my dream to write a screenplay about the Paul's Boutique era. I would pitch it as a cross between Wildstyle, Entourage and Almost Famous. Of course, I'm a coward with no talent, so don't hold your breaths.

Not a band, but Michael Jackson did the celebrity-filled music video more than once. "Liberian Girl" also had the same "celebrity-cameo-every-second" concept that "Make Some Noise" has.

Not a Pink Floyd fan whatsoever.. but the 30 minute (really like 23 minute) "Fight For Your Right Revisited" video is like the Pink Floyd "The Wall" of music videos.. You gotta be absoultely high to get it.. Not saying you SHOULD do drugs.. but most people I know say you have to be trippin' to watch "The Wall".. The FFYRR video has those 'acid' moments when the music slows down and speed up and everything is moving around, etc..

Just sayin'..

I think you're just trying to find an excuse to do acid. It's not a trippy vid.

I think this handsome chap summed it up...

It's like MJ reached down from heaven holding aloft the 'celebrity cameo in my music video mantle' and the beasties jumped up, grabbed it and made this.
