I have an old Numark PPD 2400 and it makes alot of hiss/noize

Ive tried new cords, different electrical socket

Seems it is like alot of static causes this because if I touch it I can feel the static electricity on the turn table....

Any help/thoughts....

could be a bad ground

second guess is a faulty tonearm - clean the contact with the headshell?

if it's an old table those are usually the things that go bad (I have 3 technics 1200s with those kind of problems) - so I'm sure your table is susceptible to the same inflictions

It sounds like a grounding issue.

Check and reseat and tighten the 4 little wires and plugs that go from your cartridge to your tonearm.

Check reseat and tighten your grounding wire that goes from the back of the turntable to your mixer/preamp.
