... and far be a shock to learn a musician smokes cigarettes -- certainly wouldn't be the first time, but after all these years of assuming he just smoked weed I'm a little surprised to learn Adrock smokes 'em. Is this news to anyone else? (And, seriously, IS it any of my business anyway?)

I think I actually heard something about him doing it...I definitely remember being surprised when I heard he was epileptic, though.

it's a shame but it's not illegal. Possibly he's taking his addiction a bit more seriously in light of MCA's cancer.

People have been smoking since the dawn of civilization. Give the man a break. Questioning a rock star who smokes is nutty. I can understand questioning one that does not ;)

I read a comment on mictomic that said it was wrong for Adam to smoke while Yauch has cancer. I seriously don’t think he would put his best friend’s life in jeopardy. Seems to be an occasional thing for him but even if it’s not then what can you do! Doesn’t change how I feel about him.
I do watch what I eat. Then I watch what I eat become a lot brighter, become more beautiful and almost musical.
Dude, I'm sorry it didn't turn out of you - they'll be shit you've done that hasn't worked for me. You got me in a moment of "hell yeah" when you mentioned them.

Both my parents died to cancer, one was smoking related. I don't smoke but you can't preach to others about the shit they do - tell someone that smoking is bad for them and they won't go "shit, really!!! Why the fudge didn't anyone tell me???"
But on a sorta related note, I had a friend who went into a shop (drunk) and got some cigarettes, he takes the packet, looks at it and throws it back at the clerk and shouts "what have you just sold me, have you seen the warning on these things!". We were in stitches for hours :D
Three days later he died of cancer (that's the funny part)

Sorry about your parents. That’s horrible. I personally hate cigarettes. I mean my aunt Denise has the Farah Fawcett cancer and she’s really bad off and she still smokes. I just can’t believe it when I see her like that and she’s dying but she’s still won’t stop smoking. It’s sad. But if you over-do anything it takes a toll on your health. I am glad Yauch is being smart and adapting the strict diet and following everything the docs say.

I hate smoking even more now since I've been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. My lungs are scarred from infections, I'm being monitored for lung capacity by my clinic, inhaling meds each day and people are willingly fucking theirs up. It upsets me--our lungs our precious.
Mostly I hate being around smokers because they infect the air with smokey breath. This includes my husband and sisters, who all smoke. Grrrrr.
Adrock can do what he likes. It's a hard addiction to kick.
Sorry about your parents Adam. :(
That was a funny story :)
I got a electronic cigarette a few months ago. They're surprisingly really good, bit like sucking battery acid vapor at first but suppressed the craving and now I can't go back, real cigs now taste and smell rancid. Still addicted to nicotine but only a few times a day now and sometimes forget or cant be bothered, I was ready to give up though.

Just kinda feel obligated coz it helped me and there might be some people looking to quit lurking about.
There's a book called, "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" by Allan Carr. Really turned my head around on smoking and it helped me quit. Now, I'm just like..."Why the hell did I ever pick up that habit in the first place?"
Sorry for the plug. It's just that cancer is sucky.

I have been smoke free for 8 months. I smoked for 20 years. I used Champix, it made it a lot easier in some ways but its not easy and not everyone can take it.
I cant speak for Adrock but i battled for a long time and it took many attempts, maybe he has as well.
Adam, i kind of want to recreate that story but i dont trust myself to go and ask for twenty cigarettes
