View Full Version : some pesky kids just tried to break into my house

Fuck me, was sitting in my kitchen and I noticed someone at the end of the garden. It's a teenage kid looking through the bushes, kind of casing the joint. Then he sees me spotting him and goes "oh shit" and scarpers. . . to join his mates who are all on bikes, wearing the usual hoodies.
Feeling a bit shaky, I grab the phone and run upstairs to get a better look at them.
There are about 6-8 of them, wheeling around the edge of my house (live on the corner). Another one of them is pulling himself up to have a look over the side garage gate, checking out the house.
I managed to report them all to the police as I saw them all. They seemed to hang around for ages, wheeling with all their bravado and stupidity. I mean, doesn't that boy think I might call the police?
In America I guess I might have shot him, tho technically he wasn't quite on my property. :p
Anyway, the police have taken notes etc. And I need to get the alarm sorted.
*shaken and a bit stirred*:(

I'll come and save the day from these scallywags, where are you?

Do you have a camera on your phone? God forbid there is a next time, but if so, get a pic of the little bastards before you call the police. Even if they are long gone by the time the cops get there, I'd be willing to bet that the cops will be familiar with at least two or three of the little fuckers.

You mean Arizona. Sucks these kids gave you the jitters. When we were teens we owned our neighborhood, never had a worry going through our neighbor's yards. There were many Friday or Saturday nights we would go out late night skating or playing bluebird. It probably gave the adults some time to sneak in a joint, get some sexing on, or just enjoy some quiet in the house.

Those kids weren't just looking to walk through our property, they were checking ways to break in.
@hardnox I do. To be honest, it didn't occur to me to photograph them. I just wanted to alert the police as quickly as possible. I'll be thinking on the picture taking next time I see them.
@Helvete. Haha, south London, Brixton way. Thanks for the offer ;)

Oh, errr Brixton you say? I thought you were going to say somewhere in Devon. Brixton is a bit out of my league, scary people down there. Sorry!

Part of the reason I bought my American Staffordshire Terrier was because I wanted a dog w some bark incase any little fuckers ever tried to break into my place.
Ever think of adding a dog to your fam?

^Yes, I want a dog, but my husband is not keen on dogs. That's why he married me:p
They are a lot of responsibility tho. I'm not sure our cat would like it, either.
Don't worry, Helvete, I can handle them.
I'm pretty sure that the kids are just that. One of them was wearing the uniform of the school that my son's starting at in September. I'm going to meet the headmaster on Monday, and I'm thinking I might mention it to him.

Just train your cat to fuck any intruders up.
I was walking to work one morning at 6am and saw two kids stealing some bikes at the entrance to my close.
They both had their hoods up. Made eye contact with them, they stopped and montioned to this big bit of metal tubing they had with them, then continued on with their business.
No way do they live round my way. The only way they'd have seen those bikes is on their way to the school next to my flat, so they can't have been older than about 15, either. What's the world coming to eh?
Funnily enough, this was also in a London borough, though not Brixton (Lambeth?).

please don't think I was defending them - just stating how things were when I was a kid
you should get a paintball shotgun - not only will it sting, but it'll be very hard for them to blend in.

Pitbulls are a high energy dog that demand excercise, but as long as they are raised w cats they should make out fine (mine is 1.1/2 yrs. and loves my 2 cats and my moms little dog) They'll work it out within the first few days.
Another reason I got my pit was to help break the negative stereotypes associated w them to my fam. friends n community. They score better on temperment tests then almost any other breed. they just want to please their owner; and are fucking good at it :D.
To the issue of your hub. not wanting one, I state that you are the one on the BBMB, thusly showing what I would immediately consider dominant status in the relationship; he'll surrender to your will;)

Good for you. I feel so bad for pitts and their reps. When I got my dog from the local shelter (not a pitt), I was told the pitts were the first to get the gas. They have SO MANY of them, and there is no pitt bull rescue in my city. They are amazing dogs if raised proper.
Ali!! That's pretty scary. I do dig what Soze suggested. Paintball their asses. Run out of the house like Rambo and bang some paint. THEN take pictures. Once the photos are up, have a showing at the local art gallery and make some mula off them. They would be some pretty original pieces.

calling the cops is good ...
I few notes on crime,
If you have one of those garage door openers by your garage door where you enter a code then hit enter to open the door .... realize the last code you enter stays ... so in most cases if you walk up to one and hit enter you will open the garage door .... so always hit a few random numbers after your done with that..
Also, keep you car keys by your bed and you can hit the panic button on the keys as a cheap alarm.
Yea I say shooting people is total last resort... that I pray I never have to experience.
Hope those punk ass kids learn a lesson the easy way and start doing something productive.

Thanks for all the replies!
I'm thinking of getting a dog. A Hungarian Vizsner is my favourite--I fell in love with them a few years ago and I think the hubby's caving in.
I'm at home a lot more these days and, with my dodgy lungs, I need to keep fit, so a dog's a great excuse to get out more.
Love the paintballing ideas. You guys crack me up :D
Oh and Padster... in India

Ohhhh good thinking. I actually learned something from a thread today.
Hate to say it but, what if it wasn't kids? What if it was a couple of crackheads who weren't gonna be intimidated by just one person sitting at home? I du no man, makes your mind wonder.

Trust the Americans to start talking about guns and shooting people, home invasions, crackheads, murders!

I only mentioned it in an ironic way. :)
Guns haven't quite gone mainstream here yet, we're more into knives: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-13407049
That happened last wednesday, just down the road from us here. Which is probably one of the reasons why I felt a little intimidated by a large group of kids. They cycled off the opposite direction to the rough area tho, so I only hope they're not gravitating towards gang life.
btw, abbott, my car doesn't have an alarm, even though it's fairly new. That's a good idea though. We do have a panic keypad by our bed tho, so when I get the alarm system sorted, I guess I cld use that.

I don't know why my name has been dragged through this muck, I find it childish and desperate however I will grace you with a response.
If I was around these kids wouldn't dare behave like this. Tell them I will be back in a couple of weeks and things are really going to change around there. In the meantime, strap up with a nice .22, I recommend this one (they're totally legal in the UK): http://www.granitegrok.com/pix/ruger_mini_14.jpg

Ah the .22; the "faggot's gun". Not that I'm accusing you of faggotsy, that's just how it's been put to me in the past. Hence the quotes. Venus isn't going to be defending her home against a rabbit.

my first gun ...
well I have the .22
but when I was 7 my grand-father ... an awarded detective from Arkansas ... said, here is your first gun ... a 357 revolver ... he said .. "everyone needs a gun that cant be traced and here's yours...."
I took it, it was police issued Winston in 1916 and worth a shit load toady, but I say fuck guns ... I pray I never kill anyone.
But, I just might if you fuck with my girls ... so I guess I am a real redneck

Do you know anything about UK gun laws? Go and read up and get back to me, Dirty Harry.
Apart from it being the most powerful legal semi-automatic (besides some kinds of shotgun and nobody wants that mess on their lawn) they're also pretty much non lethal. Unless you get a really good shot but then you can tell the judge it was a freak occurence. (y)

Haha, ok Thoth.

Thoth was often considered to be the heart—which, according to the ancient Egyptians, is the seat of intelligence or the mind—and tongue of the sun god Ra, as well as the means by which Ra's will was translated into speech.
