Whether they're blowin' out the back door or just slipping into something a bit more reflective, the bboys have never been a group to take their album closers lightly. Always very conscious of the taste the albums leave in your mouth as they draw to a close. Which one suits you best?

Points to Consider:

- not just which song do you like best, but which is the most proper conclusion

- which encapsulates the overall sound/function/goal of said record most accurately?

- which offers the most closure, or resolution? (in balance to it's corresponding album, of course)

This is tougher than the opener question. I have to agree with pmOney, all of them accept for "we got the".

But even "we got the" has that nice flaming lips sample. I don't think I can choose.

No question B-Boys Bouillabaisse. All I need to say is Hello Brooklyn. Case closed.

I was thinking Instant Death before I opened the poll and saw the Beastie Bouillibaisse
but all of these are great closers when you're in extra inning and need to win the game...
Namaste
Transitions
Instant Death

Although The Mix-Up isn't one of my top albums, The Kangaroo Rat is such an awesome closer. I had to give it my vote.

I can't believe I went against Bouillabaisse. It's obv a huge classic but as far as an outro, it's not the best.

I really love the bass explosion and the sample at the end of "We Got The." It's a great outro.

But.....I'm goin with Lisa Lisa. Money (money) Makin' (makin') New York Citaaaaay!

I had a feeling the bouillibasse was gonna run away with it, and rightly so in many ways. it's hard to consider it a single song for me sometimes though.

it's a tough call.

i think subconsciously "transitions" playing through the credits of the Sabotage VHS clinched it for me in the back of my head. for some reason that song playing over the "beastie boys family" list at the end just put a big bow on that whole era of bboy history. when listening in retrospect, transitions feels like it's concluding not just IC, but the entire LA chapter of the beastie saga.

the end of an era if you will.

I think the 'baise should be penalised for incorporating a heap of great mini-tracks; it's too unfair.

My answer would have been Transitions before Lisa Lisa came along.

Transitions with a doubt. I use it to close out my dj sets sometime. It just has this "the end" sound to it.

1. Transitions
2. Instant Death
3. Namaste
4. AWOL

I gotta say i am shocked at myself but in that list i am going to pick time to get ill. Not sure its the best way to close an album but its my fave track of that list

Despite it's short length, I have to say I am really digging The Lisa Lisa/Full Force Routine.

They NEED TO FINISH IT! They MUST. Maybe they split it up and the second part of it is on Hot Sauce Committee part 2 as the opening song.

wouldn't that be sweet? ;)

As much as I love B-Boy Bouillibaisse, you can’t call it one track, as even the original has individual titles, therefore the last track is AWOL. So my vote is for the greatest ever album closer... Lisa Lisa - hands down, close the poll.

agreed and agreed....never have the boys gone out with such a loud door slam....it was goooood, and also has a little mystery around it. It wasn't there in the initial tracklisting...where did it come from? Part II (I)? ... if so count me in for a full album of 45 second routines!
