Someone talked about Say It, and obviously lots of people like it, but I was thinking about how it would be performed live.
Since Stand Together is similar in that it has live guitars over a programmed beat, at first I figured this song would apply similar logic, in that it would be spun on wax and spatted over. But then there's that big middle bit which is fuzz and guitar chords, plus sort of percussive drums (ie not a beat per se but it's atop the programmed beat).
If they just stood about while this played on the decks it would be kind of weird, and then I started thinking they could play the middle section live. And then Mixmaster could cut back to the feedback guitar-y thing on wax when it was time to spit again, over the instrumental.
That would be kind of cool. Definitely opens up possibilities (I know, I've harped on the live break topic before, I know). At one point I even imagined the break seguing into Sabotage (similar dramatic percussion - wouldn't be a stretch). I guess it would have to be extended in some form to be worth it.
I dunno. I could defintely see it being performed in a non-regular fashion. The bass is a little complex to rap along with, I would imagine, though at this stage I'm not putting anything past them. The only odd part out is the feedback loop and the beat itself.
