I saw some coverage about this (http://blogs.abc.net.au/canberra/2011/05/the-end-of-the-world-as-some-know-it.html), and it was interesting how the mainstream media here treated it as a joke. I mean, it's obviously nonsense, but it was funny to see even a very middle of the road breakfast television show making fun of it.

yes, Saturday is Judgement Day...and the whole world is supposed to end October 21. So, we could all die sometime in that time frame.

Those stupid billboards are everywhere around where I live. CNN did a story a couple months back about people who QUIT THEIR JOB to tour around the country telling everyone about it. crazy.

don't you remember when the world was supposed to end back in 1994?? I remember sitting in the cafeteria at my high school and we were counting down the minutes...

Well 6pm passed here with no earthquake, however just on 5.59 a massive bolt of lightning lit up the entire sky and a huge storm started pouring down rain.

But the rain has stopped now. Pretty piss weak for an apocalypse
