View Full Version : Color swirls in white vinyl.... Character or Defect?

Totally stoked about getting my stuff today, but felt a little slighted when I saw some blueish swirls/marks in the vinyl. (In the 45, too.) Is this a normal variation or should I be getting on the phone with them? Anyone else have this? Do I need to post pics?

my 7" had one blue mark... the 12"s were clean

It is common with some of the colored vinyl I own.

No color swirls in mine, it's all white. I guess I didn't get lucky! :p

Mine looks like a dark smudge. I'm not too excited about it. I'd have preferred solid white. It looks dirty. I'm guessing thats why they were delayed cause they couldn't get clean vinyl to come off the presses.

mines lookses clean.. i thought i had some blue specks on there but it was just lint

i just took it out to look and you can see some like 20 digit number that appears to be hand-written into the inner part of the vinyl, between the lines where its smooth. mike d's credit card number - cool(y)

it starts with "50-" and ends with "-0"

If you buy a lot of colored vinyl you'll see this A LOT (especially with non-transparent colored vinyl.) It's not purposeful, but it's completely normal.

I ordered the vinyl from my record store as well as from the site in deluxe format. The one I received from my record store was the deluxe white vinyl as well. It came with an iron on and the 7 inch of Pop Your Balloon.
