well after listening to HSCPT2 for a good couple of weeks. It is the second best beastie boy album ever, after of course the MASTERPIECE "Paul's Boutique".
I only wish they had kept the original "too many Rappers" (which I fucking love)I can't get used to the new version, just not that keen.
But with "paul's Boutique" I don't really like "Hey Ladies".
I can't think of another band of any musical style that has made 8 amazing albums.

So far I have it number 4 after CYH, LTI and PB. I think its going to be impossible for it to knock one of those out of the top 3, but considering how amazing their entire catalogue is, being number 4 is a huge accomplishment.

You know that is a good point. I know the Beasties have been teased because a lot of other artists have twice as many albums out for being around this long....... but can you say that somebody with 16 albums out over 25 years were successful with each one? Not many!!!

I can't say where it's ranked. I almost feel like if I place it then I'll change it. I need more time!

For me it's number two after only Hello Nasty but right before Paul's Boutique.... Okay I'm ready for the firing squad.

No firing squad from me. PB will always be #1 unless they do something that shocks the shit out of the world, again. LTI tied into my youth and is tied to many memories, but it's overall significance in my mind has dwindled over the years despite it's nostalgic appeal. When I look at where they all rank (subjectively of course) I find myself replacing CYH with HSCP2 as my #2 selection because I enjoy the tracks so much and there is only 1 "skip track" for me on HSCP2. In my head CYH was revolutionary, which HSCP2 is not (if for no other reason than after 19 years it follows a formula that did not exist in 1992). Having said that, why I move HSCP2 ahead of CYH is because it is a more enjoyable listen for me, throughout. On CYH, I honestly could not give a shit about Funky Boss, Lighten Up, The Biz vs. The Nuge, Somthing's Got To Give, The Blue Nun, POW, Groove Holmes, Mark On The Bus, and Namaste. That is 8 out of 20 tracks. I don't hate those tracks, but I am at least ambivalent about 40% of the album.

With this album TBHC is a throwaway, and I am not a huge fan of DPNGTICW. but that is only 2 out of 16 tracks (and TBHC sounds more like an intro to DPNGTICW than anything else, almost like a combined track).

Long story short, this is #2 on my list as well.

Respect for the unique opinion, but I disagree whole-heartedly. I feel like Check Your Head is just one of the most ingenius, original, fresh, nothing-ever-fucking-sounded-like-it-since record's of all time. Just mind blowing how much shit they crammed in there and actually made it work. They've never been more raw, more dope, more original. Ever.

2 is horribly thick, so much better than 5

lti and tt5b are my least favorite bb albums, the other ones are master pieces

I love this album and I think it's better then some, but for me placing it above CYH, IC, or HN is hard because of the time.

When those three albums came out I was in High School/College and there was this era about them that holds a strong place with in me.

The Boys were all over MTV, VH1, the radio, magazine's etc. and it made it that more exciting for me and I'm sure others.

Now it's different and I completely understand why. Yauch is sick and I wouldn't want him to get worse just because I want to see them on the next Rolling Stone or something.

My list:

PB
CYH
IC
HSCPT2
HN
LTI
TT5B
TMU
