Got my vinyl from Amazon. Wish I didnt buy deluxe package

So, just got my package today from Amazon with the HSCP2 vinyl that I paid $13.50 for. Guess what? White vinly, iron-on, digital download card (that I never got with the deluxe pack) and the white vinyl 7 inch. Same fucking package that I paid $90.00 for? So I guess I got a $76.50 t-shirt and a high bit rate download of the MSN video. Thanks a bunch Topspin!

Saw about a week ago when mine shipped showing it as not
available now. Know they had issues getting copies as everyone else did. I ordered mine around the same time as the deluxe set came up to order to have an extra copy along with ordering a copy of the clean version of the cd to play at work. Got the cd the day of the release, and got the email saying the vinly would ship last week of June. Wish now I would have ordered a few copies at $13.50....

However Top Spins customer services sucks ass big time, If i havent had a satisfactory response from top Spin by tonight I will be contacting my Visa company and requesting a refund on my credit card.

Look at it this way, if beastie boys sold the deluxe package exclusively through Amazon.com or Itunes the prices would have been cheaper but people would complain that the band sold out and are teaming up with big corporations. People love to complain.
We can’t be mad because we weren’t smart shoppers. Instead of waiting around and pricing things out we took the first deal that came up.
I guess for myself I had faith that the band wouldn’t be ripping us off. I don’t think that was their intention, but in the future I will not be ordering from top spin.

I felt I got a steal when I walked into Best Buy saw the Hot Sauce vinyl for $19.99, opened it and got everything the Deluxe Package offered for close to $40 less. I was figuring two standard pieces of wax but I was shocked to get two pieces of white vinyl, the Pop Your Balloon/B-Boys in the Cut 7-in. also on white vinyl, the Clepto iron-on and digital download card...my best ever buy from Best Buy...

After buying all the remastered deluxe editions and NOT seeing the deluxe versions pop-up in big box stores or even local record shops, at a better price... I didn't feel purchasing early at $90 was an un-smart shopping move. Historically, off the site was the best place to get the deluxe stuff the cheapest. So, with that being said we got straight up ripped off, the no vaseline, BAMBOOZLE wallet rape!
and The-rapist is the lamest Beastie tee ever designed... they got hoodwinked to by letting Mike Mills used the same artwork from his movie as the "committee" of heads on the LP. The lyric sheet fold out poster is a sham and why does 'cartoon' appear twice in the art packaging!?!

For having all the extra time to get everything lined up for this release it sure feels like things got rushed at the end and quality control took the biggest hit.
Any of the new Tee's they are currently selling are much cooler then the The-rapist or the one size fits all (read as none) Mid-Eveal stick at Best Buy, but these shirts don't appear till 2 months after the release!?!
Timing is everything and the timing is on trickle with this record and that's why it's going flat... The second single and video should be out right now!

I sure hope someone in the B-Boys camp are reading these posts and work with someone else then Topspin. This has all been a big fuck up since day one on every release. Along with Topspin, this was a mess, the record store day release was a mess, the day of the release with some stores having the Lee Majors 7 inch, and I have zero hopes that that Major Lazer 7 inch will be any better (since the listing went from "limited to 500" to "limited to 1000" overnight). Someone needs to step their game up. I think that anyone who paid for the big deluxe set and got shafted (I didnt even get the stupid piece of paper for the download, which I only cared about that it was going to be a card with the picture of the album on it), should get some sort of reimbursement from Topspin, like sending us all one of the Lee Majors 45, or even an assortment of the new t-shirts for our troubles.

well yeah, things could have gone much better.
I expected a poster like the cover, i don't like the clepto iron on, t-shirt is ok, and for the price and the time it sucks too but i don't feel as much concerned, got a lot more important stuff to deal with more zeros.
sucks anyway, i was so happy with my package of the remasterd Ill Communication arriving by mail from the US that this time I simply did the same.

Have traded some emails today with Ian. He had zero clue that the white vinly pack went out any other way then what was offered on the webstie. He said that he was going to look into and get back to me. I told him about the post above from the BestBuy purchase and he didnt believe that it was the deluxe white vinyl. He said the BestBuy price and what I got on Amazon was well below even what the cost was on Topspins end. Ill post to you all when I heard anything more. I did tell them that there is a lot of heat on the message board about "true fans" getting ripped off.

I have to admit I have been unusually ticked off throughout the process. The 4 remastered purchases through topspin went off without a hitch. This one was clearly botched. I bought 3 copies of the deluxe package on day 1. I was OK with not receiving the digital download at midnight on the release date (even though I was disappointed because I stayed up thinking it was coming) because I knew I could purchase the CD in the morning and rip my own FLAC versions... minus PYB, BBITC, and the Make Some Noise (The Bug Remix). I was OK with my entire package being delayed for the sake of the vinyl purchase until others began receiving their vinyl (not just domestic customers, but people in UK and EU) and was so disappointed that I purchased a copy on ebay for $110.00 just so I could get it. In retrospect I had a laundry list of disappointments ranging from digital download card not working, to digital download not being available at midnight on release date, to waiting 3 weeks after other customers received their packages to get mine, to FLAC not being offered as a download option, to actually purchasing a copy of ebay and having it arrive 10 days before my presale copy, to going through all of that for after paying $380 for 4 copies for something that is now available (minus the T-shirt and FFYRR digital download) for under 20 bucks. It would be nice if topspin attempted to make this right in some way, but all that I have received from them in my emails (sent about 3 or 4) is an apology (not a "sorry we fucked up" apology, but rather a "sorry YOU were confused" apology).

In fairness to topspin it should be noted that sammerch shipped the physical products while topspin was only delivering the digital downloads, and Capitol elected not to make FLAC versions available as an option for download. So delays in receiving my packages had nothing to do with topspin. I believe that topspin will take all that went wrong with this release and use it to make future releases smoother. For me their approval rating took a hit, but I trust they will fix it. They know that they failed to deliver a customer experience that is consistent with that to which we have been accustomed, and I honestly believe that future releases will go more smoothly.

If they really want to do something nice, a digital HD download of DPNG short and long videos would be an unexpected, and greatly appreciated compensatory measure.

Obviously the iron ons are NOT exclusive to the pre sale, or the 7" for that matter... just sayin.

Another question, are the deluxe remastered vinyls worth it? CYH, IC, HN in a coffee table case with all the bonus tracks? Considering forking out the money for them, but unsure

After its all said and done, this is the feeling i'm left with. Its only money...i have some awesome momentos of 2 heated months of new Beastie releases, and an album that will last me the rest of the year easily.

I do hope Topspin learn from this that really they're acting as a proxy of the band, and that there is a lot of emotion involved when dealing directly with fans.

I did like that it was pointed out that Topspin nailed the re-releases. They really did. I also like to think that buying from them resulted in some more cash going to music loving distribution channels and not just huge retailers....also maybe a large chunk went to the boys themselves. Keeping the little Diamond boys belly's full will go a long way to keeping my stereo bumping new tunes.

I'm not sure how many phone calls were made and how many people he talked to....I think The Ron was the only one who actually posted that he had conversation.

I did get a call but was in a meeting and couldn't pick up.
