I'm a little disappointed the boys themselves aren't in it (but who knows...maybe for a cameo), but I can totally understand their reasons. Still can't wait to see it!

I can't believe the guy who wrote this article said that HSC2 was a disappointment. I wonder if he heard the whole album and not just this single. I still can't believe they picked DPNGICW as the next single.

Agree, I didn't finish reading until after I posted link. Maybe he means sales or charts or whatever? A disappointment IT IS NOT.
As far as single choice....why not I guess. I will say this, this song and the 2 remixes (Z-Trip/Lazer) are my kids absolute favorites. My 9 year old's head seriously starts bobbing when this song starts and that makes me smile. So I'm looking FW to watching the video with her several times!

I new it had single material the first time I heard it.
Is it my favorite cut from the album? Hell no.
From being a DJ, I do recognize what songs will get the masses interested.
I never really liked Body Movin' off the bat when Hello Nasty dropped but I wasn't mad when it became the second single of the record.

as great as HSC2 is...very little is being done to promote the album. so who cares how 'radio friendly' or insert whatever appeal DPNG has. at this point, they should just please the fans and release the hiphop ish!

Hey, I agree. But, the wigs at Capital probably feel different than us and don't give a rats ass about what we want. They want to move units. No matter how bad of a job they have been doing to promote it.
All in all. I was just happy to get the record. Anything else is a bonus.

It does look like Inception. Glad I'm not the only person who saw that. But it also looks like Spies Like Us and any snow oriented G.I.Joe episode.
Either way I am on the plus side of this idea.

I'm excited about the video because the fact is Yauch still isn't well enough at this point, so you have to just get creative with what you have. I think they totally did by bringing in Spike for this. (y)

The sound too lost in the mix to me.

If the song had zero vocals, I have a feeling people would be raving about how it's their best instrumental. I think it has some of Yauch's best bass-playing since IC. Considering Spike is on board, I'm sure we're gonna get an instantly classic video.

It's a good cut. I'm stoked for the music video. It's a good summer beat. Hopefully it won't be their last music video from the CD. So many good tracks to make music videos too.
I'd LOVE Long Burn The Fire to be a music video.
Or even OK or Say It.
Lee Majors Comes Again I could see being a music video and having a vibe from Rat Cage from TMU. Just the b&w, and the old school'ish type to it.
None the less I Just wanna see a music video with the BBOYS!!
And whatever happened to the music video of Too Many Rappers. There was a video of the Boys with Nas in a grocery store for part of the music video??

I can honestly see a re-cut of the Too Many Rappers video happening, and even a Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament clip (would only need MCA's hands). But, I am an idiot.

that directed by Hornblower listing is now removed I noticed.
but then again spike has the honorary Hornblower nom de plume, no?
didn't spike/hornblower get credit for both Sure Shot and Sabotage?
I wonder if Hathaway spilled the beans or if they brought in Spike later in the process.
either way I am excited for the eventual release and promotion of this grand reunion

BEASTIE BOYS BECOME ACTION FIGURES IN NEW SPIKE JONZE-DIRECTED VIDEO
Ad-Rock, Mike D, MCA and Special Guest Santigold Elude Mercenaries In Thrill-Packed "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" Clip
Having traveled through time and space in previous videos, Beastie Boys enter yet another new frontier in the brand new "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win": Under the direction of Spike Jonze (who has previously worked with the band on the classic "Sabotage" clip among others), Ad-Rock, Mike D, MCA and guest vocalist Santigold become action figures. GI B Boys, if you will.
The transformation comes with a price: "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" finds Beastie Boys and Santi pursued by a team of assassins hell bent on their termination. Over the course of the epic clip, our heroes make one death defying escape after another, traveling across land, sea and sky as they elude and combat snipers, zombies, sharks and more.
"Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" is the second video from Beastie Boys' universally acclaimed Hot Sauce Committee Part Two (Capitol), the first being the extended video for "Make Some Noise" a/k/a Fight For Your Right Revisited, which was directed by the band's own Adam "MCA" Yauch and which Time magazine described as having more stars "than in a Judd Apatow flick."
