There is a new documentary in production about the infamous club City Gardens, Trenton NJ. It features Ian Mackaye (Fugazi), Jon Stewart (The Daily Show) *he was a bartender there, HR (Bad Brains), Micky Ween (Ween) and about 50 other bands from the club's history. The Beastie Boys played there when they released "Cookie Puss". Also, the sample "You're wild man.... WIIIILLLD" from Paul's B was taken from a live Venom show at City Gardens. If you haven't heard the full live recording of it, do a search for "Venom live City Gardens" it hilarious. Hopefully we will get the boys on camera for the film. I hear they have pretty crazy stories about the place.

Check out the 6min. trailer link below.

We are trying to raise funds to complete the film through Kickstarter.com. If you can, help us out with a few bucks.

That is a pretty killer recording, yes it was from the Check Your Head tour but it wasn't a show at City Gardens. The club was supposed to get that show but it fell through and went to some Jersey shore shit club. You can hear Mike D apologizing to City Gardens fans at the beginning of the set.

We believe the venue to have been a place called Tradewinds in Seabright NJ.

I was at the show. I remember Firehose opening, some idiot spraying mace into the crowd, and dipping my head into a swimming pool outside. The place was one huge mosh pit the whole night.

Wow!!

Make me feel even older, why don't ya! :)

I also remember thinking how clean Seabright was..... I still live in South Jersey and was never in a Jersey Shore town that was so nice. I grew up going to Seaside which is much more rough around the edges. Alright, its trashy!

The actual show was insane from start to finish. I was surprised how rowdy the crowd was for the venue. Never judge a book by the cover.

I was at the Roseland show on the same tour with Firehose as opener. Scott Ian from Anthrax was there. Luckily, my girlfriend and I got invited to the aftershow party at the Amazon club on the East River (I think) with free beer and bungee jumping. That is where I met Yauch for the first time. Great show and party!

Mine is labeled This Shit Sounds Good. I never have been able to find a recording of the Michigan State University show on 5/17/92.
