Scoob and I attended what I like to call the "West Coast Beastiemixes Meetup" It was really only Scoob, Me, his Family, and my friend, but I will say, I had a blast, Can't wait to go to Colorado, sleep on his couch, yell at his wife (who was very tolerant of my intrusion btw) , "Where's my breakfast!" and get my snowboard on, and OH, try on the Sasquatch suit!!!

I did have a few questions for the dude from their management team and here is what I learned...

Unfortunately is doesn't seem there will be a 3rd single pushed from HSCp2. MSN/FFYRR video was expensive and DPNGTICW didn't take at all with national radio, so... the radio/video push for HSCp2 is pretty much over.

Dude did say, Say It (my choice) or OK, would have been the 3rd single however.

I asked him if me had heard any of the other part of HSC (1 or 3, or whatever it might be called) and he said he had.... heard all/most of it.

So then I asked if they had Zadar mix it down as well, which according to him, did not happened.

Of course I asked, if and when, it as coming out and he was wishy washy, so probably no decision has been finalized, but he kinda lead me to believe it might not get released. BOO!

SORRY that I bring this weird/bad news!?!

He did say that they had a huge pushed geared up for the original HSCp1 release, which include a cool phone app. that you could download songs stems and shake your phone to instantly create remixes.
Everything went south... money, timing, tour and promo stylingh, after MCA found out about the cancer and we still are waiting for the band to really land from that (as you all know).

and as you all know all the HSC original recordings are really distortion heavy, some much so, that one could not clearly hear all the vocals, until Zadar came in to mix the sound.

I WANT HSCp3/1 within the next year! Give it to the fans NOW, since the push for mass consumption of HSCp2 is over!!!

I really hope that the guy from Capitol was mistaken on the subject of no new single. Say It would have been my choice as well. As far as the other half of HSC I would think it will surface at some point. Hopefully Yauch recovers soon, and they can release it the way they intended to originally.

Beastie Boys are a strong rumour to headline Big Day Out early next year. It's the kind of rumour perpetuated by people who don't really know what's going on, though. I would love it to be true, but know too much to expect it to happen.

Yeah I always figured they'd be onto their next thing - Mike spoke about the next album (i.e. the one to be released once Yauch is better) like it was something they hadn't yet developed.

Maybe better to close the book on the whole HSC era, take it for what it was, and cherry pick from the better ideas they have lying around from part 1/3/2 when the time comes.

Haha. Yes it is. I managed to blag an exchange year at the University of Queensland, so I'm here until June 2012. Brisbane and the Gold Coast is treating me very well. I am keeping an eye on the Big Day Out rumour-mill. Funnily enough it was that Beastie Boys Tibet assignment I was creating threads about that pushed my average high enough to get the place out here, so a headline slot would be a suitable result.

I though I was asking question peeps on the board would be interested in having insight into.

I guess it was kinda sad that I wanted the brother LP to HSCp2 within the next year... but I also was one of the sad guys that was hoping Beck's Midnight Vultures would come out as a double disc like he intended!
