i know, stupid/dull question.

but i use to wear between sizes 12-12.5. that last two pairs of shoes i bought have been 10.5 and 11. i use to be able to order shoes online but now i can't because sizes are so inconsistent and i need to try them on before i buy. over the years it just seems like i've had to go down a half size every year or so. fucking weird.

i know they do that shit for women's clothes. they lower the numbers for the sizes so it makes women feel good about themselves so they buy more from that company.

Nope, even when I bought some shoes in New York there were the same size (well +1 on UK sizes) as I normally wear.

hmmm maybe my feet are just shrinking.

it's not just shoes. seems like everything has inconsistent sizing now.

jeans for example. i normally wear a 34/34 for jeans. i didn't even have to bother trying them on. just pick out the cut that i like and be on with it. now i have to try them on to make sure these 34/34's fit. it would make more sense if the sizes were getting bigger. but they're not. the sizes are just all over the place. how they fit is even different between the same pair of jeans that are just different in color.

i think it's all to do with how fucking scrawny guys are now. those hipster kids are skinny as shit. why are they all so scrawny?

i thought feet got bigger , or at least could get bigger as you get older. Maybe its style of shoes/trainers. and like you say , different manufacturers have different gradings slightly.

since i quit smoking last year i have put on about 2 stone and figured i had gone up a jeans size. I went to Primark who are notoriously cheap for clothes and i had to buy three sizes up. cos there shit was incorrect. and cos i knew they would shrink a bit cos they were cheap jeans. i know the moral of this tale is dont buy cheap jeans but i spend all i have on my wife and kids. Clothes are massively don the priority list for me

this is not very interesting, is it

I don't get American sizes. In my sneakers it's 6 and a half and in my sandals I wear size 8. In Brazil it's always 37! Easier!:p

If you measure my foot with an old fashioned measuring thing, I'm an 8.5 wide. But my whole life I've worn 9.5's or 10's. I think they are definitely making shoes bigger now though, because a 10 is almost always too big now, and I used to wear a 10 all the time. Now I ask for size 9.

pants are all over the place. I recently ordered online 2 pair of jeans in the same size from Delia's, but got them a size bigger than I'd normally wear because they're "junior" or whatever and tend to run small. one pair fits perfectly, the other pair is tight as hell and the legs are about 3 inches too short. I was happy at least one pair worked, because they are making jeans so crazy these days. I mean, look at this fucking shit: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=21382643&color=060&itemdescription=true&navAction=jump&search=true&isProduct=true&parentid=W_APP_JEANS

were the pair of jeans the some ones just different in color?

a lot of times i'll find a pair of jeans that fit me well after i try them on. then i go ahead and grab the same jeans in the same size just different in color. figuring since that the first pair fit me well i wouldn't have to try on the others. when i get home i come to realise that each pair of jeans is drastically different in size even though they're suppose to be the same cut/size the only difference is suppose to be the color.

the sizes can be so drastic that one pair fits perfectly. i like a felaxed fit. not too baggy not at all tight. then another pair will be totally impossible to get on! or will be so long that they slip over my feet/shoes. quality control is out the window.

i mainly buy levi's so it's not like im buying shitty jeans. unless levi's are shitty now.

those pink jeans are disgusting and not a single one of those models is remotely attractive. it's probably the same girl but so what. is this what girls want to look like?

they were similar styles, and different colors. I knew I was taking a chance, but geez. Levi's are all over the place too. I used to always go for levis, but haven't found any that fit quite right in a couple of years. I had one pair of jeans from Kohl's that I wore the shit out of this summer because they were flatteringly tight, with a thinner weight denim and enough stretch for biking. The crotch eventually ripped from biking, and I haven't found a similar pair since. I should just take them to a seamstress and have them replicated so I can wear them the rest of my life!

You really can't rely on one brand or style anymore, the companies are always changing things and all the stuff is made in sweatshops overseas. weak.

that's not what girls actually want to look like, just one day someone decided to trick them into thinking they should. pretty sure it started ironically. I've seen a million girls this summer wearing really high-waisted shorts and mom jeans. they look so awful, but somehow it caught on. I asked my boyfriend if thought it looked good and he said "no, it looks terrible, but there will be guys who see it and get trained to think 'oh, she's wearing those shorts, she's that type of girl' and they'll start to think they like the way it looks". and by "that type of girl", I think he means the kinda girl who's into being cool and trendy...which maybe sometimes equals slutty.

exactly. the girls trying to be trendy are easier to fuck because all you gotta do is give them the attention they're seeking. so those "type" of girls are just patheticly easy attention seekers.

since these girls are getting more attention they become the new "hot" girls and it just keeps rolling. no, they're just advertising their easiness and guys fucking love pussy. especially if it's easy pussy.

i can't believe people would want to wear those, let alone pay $105 for them. and seriously, where is that girls ass in them things?

urban outfitters by far has the most awkward models in every ad i have ever seen
