Hope and Change, Keep Hope Alive, Doing it all Different.

This is what happens when a man with no business experience, in fact not much experience at anything for that matter, is propped up to become President by a willing media and the union / environmental / anti capitalist segment of our population. You know, everybody screamed and preached about how he was going to do things different, all with public exposure, no back room deals. He was going to change Washington and the country. He was going to be the savior, to make up for all the bad Bush years. He was a man of the people. He was down with the working man (even though he has never had a real working job in his life).

Instead, we get one failure after another after another. Stimulus, Obamacare, endless talk about jobs, the NLRB (propped up by former union officials) trying to kill jobs in SC because they disagree with its politics, running Gibson guitar out of business, playing favorites, the fast and furious failure, trying to anoint economic winner and losers. And now we have these:

As if the whole GE, not paying taxes at the same time it has been exporting jobs to China while its CEO sits on Obama's jobs council wasnt bad enough. This just shows the pure arrogance of Obama and the suckers his supporters are and continue to be. I thought this kind of political smoozing and political payoffs was over with under Obama. Hope and Change....Hope and Change...Hope and Change...

Suckers.

Suckers.

as if it concerned you while happening under the previous administration

so rather than actually creating jobs (Boehner, millions are still waiting) - republicans are going to pander to political witch hunts pointing out Obama's failures in attempting to create jobs.

Well, that is what they promised isn't it? Not much of anything but to clog shit up like pus. Now if they want a transparent and "smaller" government - please do share with us their lobby connections and explain why they are "regulating" exactly what they want - privatization.

oh wait - only THEY can sell out America without peril...

guess what, its not the govts job to create employment. its the govts job to create an environment that encourages economic development and hiring. unfortunatley, higher taxes, more regulation, more union friendly work rules, unknown forthcoming policies, and having the govt throw money at select companies just because the administration agrees with their politics doesnt work too well, as we now see. if he wants to throw money at companies , become a hedge fund operator and use his own money, not tax payer money.

but, lets take your arguement. you say millions are waiting for boehner to create jobs? so should these same millions be mad at the democrats who were in control of congress when the economy began to go in the toilet even though bush was president?

obama couldnt lead a barbershop quartet.

not if 2 of the members of the quartet were insistent upon singing out of key no matter what song he picked, at least

i think if the government wants to create more employment it should just repeal child labor laws. think of all the jobs you'd create by putting those little bastards in call centers or whatever

you forgot to mention the Blacks (n)

well these two examples you provided are the government providing an environment rather than making jobs - albeit seemingly controversal, that is pretty much the premise of these attempts.

Now if you're going to bitch about government playing favorites, let me tell you are story about a company called....Haliburton, oh wait. I'm sure you know how much they have fucked over the taxpayer (moving HQ to Dubai tax haven), humans (rape allegations), and the environment alike (fracking laws molded to their liking by Cheney)

I'm sure you're going to be objective and bitch about them next week....right?

Now concerning your anti-union and regulation stance. If you get your way, might as well kiss your weekends goodbye and learn to speak Chinese. Unions have protected the rights of workers for decades. Yes there are assholes running unions and I too do not appreciate their involvement because it gives good unions a bad rap...like everything that is shitty. Government regulations are not to dissuade employment growth but to make sure companies don't rape their employees and the environment as we are seeing in many nations that are outsourced to.

If you want government out of workers rights - tell Shotty Walker to step back, "small" government doesn't do these things - right?

another piece of the puzzle vulvana will conveniently omit

http://thinkprogress.org/romm/2011/09/13/317594/timeline-bush-administration-solyndra-loan-guarantee/

timeline - I know it's a little long and doesn't have little shapes to color

May 2005: Just as a global silicon shortage begins driving up prices of solar photovoltaics [PV], Solyndra is founded to provide a cost-competitive alternative to silicon-based panels.

July 2005: The Bush Administration signs the Energy Policy Act of 2005 into law, creating the 1703 loan guarantee program.

February 2006 – October 2006: In February, Solyndra raises its first round of venture financing worth $10.6 million from CMEA Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and U.S. Venture Partners. In October, Argonaut Venture Capital, an investment arm of George Kaiser, invests $17 million into Solyndra. Madrone Capital Partners, an investment arm of the Walton family, invests $7 million. Those investments are part of a $78.2 million fund.

December 2006: Solyndra Applies for a Loan Guarantee under the 1703 program.

Late 2007: Loan guarantee program is funded. Solyndra was one of 16 clean-tech companies deemed ready to move forward in the due diligence process. The Bush Administration DOE moves forward to develop a conditional commitment.

October 2008: Then Solyndra CEO Chris Gronet touted reasons for building in Silicon Valley and noted that the “company’s second factory also will be built in Fremont, since a Department of Energy loan guarantee mandates a U.S. location.”

November 2008: Silicon prices remain very high on the spot market, making non-silicon based thin film technologies like Solyndra’s very attractive to investors. Solyndra also benefits from having very low installation costs. The company raises $144 million from ten different venture investors, including the Walton-family run Madrone Capital Partners. This brings total private investment to more than $450 million to date.

January 2009: In an effort to show it has done something to support renewable energy, the Bush Administration tries to take Solyndra before a DOE credit review committee before President Obama is inaugurated. The committee, consisting of career civil servants with financial expertise, remands the loan back to DOE “without prejudice” because it wasn’t ready for conditional commitment.

What critics fail to mention is that the Solyndra deal is more than three years old, started under the Bush Administration, which tried to conditionally approve the loan right before Obama took office. Rather than “pushing funds out the door too quickly,” the Obama Administration restructured the original loan when it came into office to further protect the taxpayers’ investment.

ONCE AGAIN - another bush mess roughly placed on Obama's shoulders - it's too bad he plays fair, too many bush policies still fucking shit up. Obama should've put that Change to work rather than tip toe around a pile of shit and get caught up in the stink.

^ i thought obama was going to be doing things different than what bush did, but everytime obama is busted, you "bush did it too"....

so which is it?

kaiser soze

so that's how you're going to try to cover your tracks?

I'm saying the ball was rolling with bush and so it appears Obama rather than rush it through, he restructured it. I'm not saying he is absolved of responsilibilty, looks like he has a scandal or two brewing and what timing - the repubs are delivering exactly what they promised (besides helping with jobs and all...you know the shit they promised to do while shooting for office)

I hate the fact he's propping up a ton of bush policies, he is losing support from his side as well and it surprises me to see you complain about that.
