anyone play it? i just got it the other day.
it's not easy to stop playing.
i've only played it once. my friends are super into it and they run a mutliplayer server. i joined it once and decided that my contribution to the server would be a giant pyramid. i spent like 6 hours playing without noticing and haven't tried it again, i'm too afraid to. it is seriously hard to stop playing that game, i don't know if i could manage having a job and a social life at the same time

Bought an old Dell server from work we weren't using anymore, and we've been running a private server from a friends living room for about 6-months. (He had the fastest internet)
There's about 10 of us that play on and off. I've been pretty addicted, as well as a few Family members. Us, along with friends have built some pretty cool stuff. The best part is being able to play online with Niece, Nephew, Sister, and friends that don't live close enough to hang out in real life. We build things, work out in-game problems, go on caving adventures with each other, it's pretty damn fun. It's a lot less dependent on reaction time like if we were all playing a FPS or something.
Most times when you get done playing (3am) you actually feel like you've accomplished more than just mowing down enemies with a machine gun, you've actually built something that others will see when they log in...
i agree on all accounts. this game is amazing. we'll have to rock a bbmb server.
i was pretty blown away but what they built in the server though. i have some seriously OCD friends apparently. there were cities, airships, glass palaces, a rollercoaster minecart course (with jumps and something akin to rocket boosters and everything), the phrase "BONER JAMZ" carved into sand and filled with lava, some really astounding stuff
but it definitely strikes me as a game that needs to be played on a multiplayer server to be enjoyed properly though. otherwise you're spending hours digging for coal by yourself and building things that nobody else will ever see. a very sad game in singleplayer, but quite remarkable when you share it
awesome.
i have yet to play it online, and i just bum around getting coal, continuously pimp my castle, and generally paly around getting a feel for the game. i can't wait to hit a real server.
