I find it really, really tacky…the bathtub is the only place one should be reading in the bathroom…I always cringe a little when I you go into someone’s bathroom and see they have a magazine rack next to the toilet…nasty…those people need more fiber me thinks…really…unless you’re filling time at some menial or mind numbing job, trying to kill the clock, reading on the toilet is very bizarre and quite weird to me…

Maybe I want to read half a paragraph at a time.

i've read in the bathroom for longer than i can remember. it used to be magazines, but now it's books, and mostly using my phone, at the moment (i've vowed not to read new books while still in school). nothing beats reading a book, though.

it's quiet, relaxing, and personal on the can. is that's the only personal time you get during the day, then why not use it to read something?

If you live to the age of 76 you will spend approx 3 yrs on the pot. Because of this thread I looked it up. I figure that when I am 76 that I will have spent 4 years looking up stupid shit on the internet.

I play poker on my PSP. I should not even touch that contaminated thing.

This subject reminds me of George Costanza trying to donate a book that had been red flagged because he read it in the bathroom and a lady named Rebecca de Mornay yelled at him. I think she is the same lady that yelled at Elaine for dumping muffin stumps off at the homeless shelter.

^. Boom. Isn't it like a really large and expensive photo book that George takes into the toilet?

The idea of books on the toilet is very 20th century. Think about the amount of gunk on an iPad or iPhone. Do people clean them?

Yep. I don't clean my PSP. Bacteria keeps me healthy. Ha! It isn't like I rub urine and feces all over the screen. I am not a monkey.

coolest idea ever. I don't read in the bathroom but i'd read the tp! that reminded me of when I was a kid my aunt had this awesome bathroom wallpaper. it was black and white and had little cartoons and short stories on it. i'd take a pee and be in there 20 minutes...reading lol

ooh terrible! (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7377002.stm)

I love the hand hygiene tips in the CBC news story: wash your hands long enough to sing "Happy Birthday" twice.

I think that's just all to do with general hand hygiene rather than germs jumping on to your iphone from your bumhole. :D

If it's the type of thing that takes a bit of time to work itself out, I'll read something.

I eat a lot of fiber though so usually it's not an issue.

Instead of a magazine rack in the bathroom, I have a cabinet with cereal, bowls, and milk. I find its the best place to remind me to have fiber. Sit, eat, poop, all set for the fiber enriched day...

The milk has to become sour in the cabinet. I think that you are lying.
