Just pathetic considering all of the dumb ass discussions on this site. Actually they were never really were discussions.

I am now bracing for an onslaught of rational why man is completely innocent with this unprecedented spike in CO2 emissions.

Leadership and rising to the occasion has never been so lacking. The nut jobs are winning the Global Warming debate.

i'm not too worried about the environment, really.

...because the environment is going to survive, like it always has, and always will. people are more worried about humanity's survival, which is less sure. humans are pretty resilient, though, so that's a plus.

grass roots movements are not going to save the world. only heavy government intervention, and high alternative energy investment are going to stop the downward spiral of doom this whole environmental destruction thing will bring about. problem is, no one in the first world is going to want to give all of the sweet little niceties we have, and as soon as the governments try to take them away, it's going to be anarchy in the streets. look at how crazy greece has been lately while trying to implement austerity measures so they can be helped by the EU. measures that need to be implemented to avoid a total crash of the system, and yet there are still riots in the streets.

it's going to be interesting to see how the environment issue pans out. according to the cycle of humanity, we're pretty much due for some pretty devestating social cycle.

it also sucks, because the environment issue can balloon into a crazy long circle arguement where everyone has a different opinion, and there's no way to know which is the right answer, until historians, or aliens figure it out hundreds of years from now. booo.

I do think if we all could just get together and talk rationally about mans involvement causing the rapid rise in CO2 gas, Obama most likely will be the one to blame. It is most definately Obama's fault. Even Al Gore will tell you Obama caused Global Warming.
