It's the most wonderful time of the year!

On this subject, has there been much coverage of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temp project in the US?

It seems to have pretty decisively validated the prevailing view that climate change is real and man-made. I would assume that the denialist camp is not accepting the findings, but i have yet to hear their reasons.

The Berekley study was barely covered by the media in the US, I did checkout their methodology and unfortunately all of the numbers point to the same conclusion.

The panel says it's “virtually certain” that warm daily temperature extremes will increase in this century. It’s "likely" that human influences have led to a warming of extreme daily minimum and maximum temperatures across the globe, and that instances of heavy rainfall will increase. The report finds the average maximum wind speed of hurricanes is likely to increase, though storm frequency is likely to drop or remain the same.

The Berkeley project was designed to investigate the common objections raised by the some of the denialists and was indeed funding by and staffed by many prominant critics of the existing Climate Change consensus. The fact that it ended up so strongly supporting the consensus should silence any doubters whose objections were based on science and logic. There probably were not many of them anyway...
