The assholes who bought out our lab decided to close it down completely, so I lost my job the exact day that we returned from our honeymoon (went to Portland for a week, totally aaaaaawesome!).

Since I was officially unemployed, my husband accepted a position as a community diabetes educator in Ottawa, Ontario and over the last month we packed our previous life the fuck up and drove across the country.

I atleast scored 14 weeks of severance pay due to the closure of the lab so I'm quite happy currently just chilling and getting to know my new city. I am also on a serious search to find a new kitty friend to keep me company in our new apartment.

It feels weird to not have a job. I'm going to either try and get something completely different from what I've done thus far and potentially even a job that helps mankind at large, or snag a soul-crushing government position with good benefits since I now live in our nation's capitol and all.

Anyways, that's my life update for anyone here that wanted to know!

Someone come visit me and stuff...

Ottawa sounds great, my sister lives there. I'm hoping to visit sometime in the new year, hopefully after the snow but before the NHL playoffs start. Maybe catch a game, do all the touristy stuff, infiltrate Parliament, etc.

I hope you enjoy your new town.

That's a rude welcome back present.

Glad it didn't leave you guys completely wrecked though and ya'lls still have a roof over your heads and such. (y) Take some photos of your new town!

Government is so dope. Just hanging out, waiting for the oldies to fall off the perch so you can snap up a management position, all with the ability to take days off to play Skyrim.

14 weeks? Nice cushion!

Sorry to hear about the sudden change but hopefully the new situation brings better opportunities.

Sorry that you are in Sens country :(

Excellent!...we now have a member in direct proximity to the throne of power!...or at least within egging distance of Harper and the Parliament cats! (http://www.parliamenthill.gc.ca/histoire-history/terrains-grounds/snctr-snctry-eng.html)...
