I was kind of surprised when the HSCP2 pellas showed up on the net and there seemed to be a general yawn. I remember the deluge of mixers who took a shot at mixing beastie tracks for TT5B and was ready to spend an hour or two every day listening to fan remixes of the latest round of A Cappella's. Is it because no one knows they are out there, or ???

Second post down.

I was pumped for these but since the vocals need to be sped up they're useless to me because stretched vocals sound like garbage in the program i use.

If Anyone wants to take a crack at fixing them, I'd gladly send you download links to the original .wav files. PM me.

Why are these pellas slowed to begin with? What happened when they were ripped/recorded/captured off the HSp2 BVD Blue-Ray?
Would Beatmapping the original song and then just applying the same BPM to the pella take care of it? That's what I tried in ACID...

I assumed the pitch was off. The timing matches the original track.

When I got them they were like that. They were donated because we deal with this type of thing, obviously.... But I, myself don't know what needs to be done to correct them. Like I said, if someone wants to tackle the lot, and "fix" them, and re-upload them for me, I'll host the new fixed ones instead of the ones I have.
I don't make the remixes, I only do what I can to host them.

I wanted to see if I could get them, so I extracted the Surround Sound mixes from the dvd with a free program as 6-channel WAV files (same audio quality as the source files). I opened them in Audacity and deleted everything except the center chanel (which contains vocals only), and then exported them as WAV files (mono, not stereo). They sound the same as what S7 has posted. So my assumption was that the vocals only portions of the surround sound mix (center chanel) were altered specifically for that mix. Since the center channel is part of the surround mix, the track length for the center channel matches the track length of the surround sound mix. Any differences between the audio from the center channel only of the surround mix and the vocal portion of the 2-channel stereo mix can (my best guess) be attributed to whatever editing was done to them to create the desires surround sound mix. If you mute the center channels of the 6-chanel mix the vocals are still present because they are part of the front left and front right channels.
So long story short, it is m y assumption that the A Cappella's sound different from the vocals in the stereo mix because they were edited to create the Surround sound mix. I am not any good at editing audio, but (again my assumption) my thought was that since the track length for the pellas were the same but the vocals sounded slowed down that the pitch was changed for the center channel to create the Surround Mix.
Please don't take any shots, I recognize that this is speculation, I am just doing the best I can to try and figure it out with the limited knowledge I have.

Ok, So I've played with fixing these pellas. And I'll tell you how to fix them as well.
I can not, and will not be fixing them myself until I feel better. I've had pretty serious back pain for almost a month now, and it kills me to sit at my desk at home. If you can wait, I'll eventually get to it, until then this seems to work fine.
I'm using Acid Music Studio 7
1.) Open Acid
2.) Drag track onto timeline.
3.) Right-Click on track, make sure it's "Beatmapped" and not "One-Shot" This is important, if the track is "One-Shot" the next steps will shorten the track length, No Good!
4.) Click play, then click on track so that it's highlighted.
5.) Use the + or - keys to adjust pitch.
6.) Save pella
Clicking "+" 2x seems to bring the pella up to where it sounds about right to me. Your millage etc.....
If you find a better way, or you feel that I'm just totally off my rocker and just plain wrong, please let me know, I'm open to suggestions/help. *Thanks!
I'm sure this method will work in other versions of Acid, and other programs.
Have Fun kids!

Revising step 5.
Clicking "+" 2x seems to bring the pella up to where it sounds about right to me.
Clicking + once I think is right.
