Did ANYONE get tickets for the ceremony?

Did any of us actually get tickets?


We had to click the link on the R&RHOF website at 10am EST for tickets (I wasn't part of the member pre-sale). I'm all the way down in Sydney but I thought I'd give it a crack anyway. I didn't really see myself flying all the way to Cleveland but I thought I'd try to get some, just in case I changed my mind, and anyway I figured if I was lucky enough to get tickets one of you fine East Coast people would probably be happy to take them off my hands.



So I hope you realise that 10am EST is 2am Sydney time (so I've set my alarm - THIS is how much I love the Beasties) and I've logged on at seven minutes to 10, and the link is already dead. I kept clicking and clicking but alas, no joy. Apparently I wasn't the only one because everyone on Facebook and Twitter was going apeshit crazy! And then after a little while the R&RHofF people tweeted that they were sold out.


The dirty bastards.


Did ANY of us get tickets? I really wanted one of our spies to be there because I don't think they'll televise it in Australia. I wanted to know what the Beasties said in their speech (if they make one) / if they played anything / if so, what songs they played / how our man Yauch is looking.


Please someone, tell me you're going so you can give us a full review! I feel a little left out down here in Olde Sydney-Town.

IMO, the Inductees and their Management should be guaranteed an allotted number of tickets to distribute amongst their die hard fanbase at an event like this. no one in the ticket gouging business gives a fuck what I think though.

With all the Beastie, GnR fans and others... I figured it would be a hot ticket.

I think waiting a couple weeks after the holidays pass and getting actual word from the B-Boys on what their plans are is the move before buying inflated ebay tickets.

Plus, I already have vacation plans in May that I don't want to scrap.

I got tickets this morning in the general sale. They're in the back corner, top level. I'm sorry everyone seems to have been skunked so far. I'm nervous that maybe my tickets won't really come in the mail, because this whole thing has been goofy. I've read my confirming email about a dozen times. :o

The tickets I've seen for sale thus far don't have the look of typical broker tickets. All the tickets I've seen are in the back half of the venue and almost all of them are in the top level like me. Some lunatic wants thousands of dollars for tickets just like mine. And why are there no tickets for sale in the front half of the auditorium? I don't remember another time where on the day tickets went on sale there were no good tickets on broker sites at any price.

I wonder if there might still be chances for tickets from other sources. Maybe some bands did get some. Didn't Metallic give/sell tickets to their ceremony through their website to fans? Maybe the Chili Peppers will have some tickets.

Well I'm just glad that someone's going to be there for our boys. I want the auditorium to go ballistic when they come out on stage but I was afraid the room was going to be entirely populated by Axl Rose fans.
(I wonder if that Beastie flag they used at the Paul's Boutique album launch is still around...............you could take it on the night and wave it with pride!)

I don't remember what the shipping options were. I picked standard mail. The confirming email said I'd get the tickets within 10 business days of the order. Maybe the person you're buying from got the tickets fed ex'd or maybe they were etickets. I only buy hard tickets from brokers. They usually cost more but there is a bit less risk.


Thanks to everyone for the congratulations. I am excited. I hope more tickets become available. I still think it's odd that there have been no advertised tickets in the sections that appear to be closer to the stage. I wonder if they're not using the whole auditorium.
