For many years, I have been on the lookout for the British Airways TV commericial that featured bits of "Beastie Revolution." The airline settled out of court re: their use of this "sample" - anyway for those interested in seeing it -- it is on youtube at:

wow...good find.
if they didn't sue BA for sampling them....they wouldn't have been able to go and sample AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Beatles, Eagles, Kurtis Blow etc etc lol etc!

Interesting point. I'm sure I read about this at some point but can't remember how that all works. Do you need to get permission or pay? If so, when?
There used to be somebody on here that seemed to know about copyright/sampling law stuff.

I think they did actually pay out money on samples for Paul's Boutique, just not the inflated percentage that they would have had to today. the laws weren't fully realized at that point, so I think it was a steal. not all the samples were cleared though, I know that. sometimes they shy away from referencing where some of those samples came from interviews.

rappers didn't have to (consistently) start paying for samples til Biz' 'I Need A Haircut' dropped in '91...

Can't seem to find any answers on this questions, but who is doing the vocals on this track. I know MCA was good at doing voices and Mike D would fuck around with Bad Brains and imitate them being all rasta and stuff, but can't seem to figure out who the voice is... plus, he introduces all the members in this song in the third person, Adam, Adam on the bass, mike and schellenbach... anyone have any info about this track?
