Though a Fatboy Slim song plays throughout the ad, there is a quick blip of Adrock (as Vic Colfari as Bobby "The Rookie") in his famous "Sabotage" running scene. Don't blink; it happens between :40-:41

that my friend is a Fatboy Slim Remix of "I see you baby" by Groove Armada. And they bloody changed it, its "shakin that ass" not "shakin that thang" which took the shine off a good advert.

This is like the Paul's Boutique of commercials. Nothing but samples...
I wonder if the boys feel the music/marketing/digital revolution rules have changed enough that it's not "selling out"...

Yeah I'm not sure it counts as selling out. There were so many clips on this commercial and in the first shot was Indiana Jones. George Lucas charges do much money for any use of anything from his films.
So maybe this is allowed stock footage?
That and doesn't MTV own rights to music videos once they have been played on MTV? I could be wrong, just something I heard.

Unless the BBs have negotiated a really different type of contract, EMI/Capitol owns the rights to the BB's recordings and they choose whether or not to allow that bit of Sabotage to be used by Nike (though the music itself may still belong to the BBs i.e. as far as I know Capitol cannot go out & hire a set of musicians and re-record any of the tracks without the guys' permission).
Though Wesley may be right about the ability to legally use little bits of music/videos for free in new productions by people other than the actual copyright holders.
