and people are bitching about the costs of social programs - geez, it's ok to lose billions to war but to help your own citizens? hell no!

http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/29/world/meast/iraq-us-audit/index.html

(CNN) -- The U.S. Defense Department cannot account for about $2 billion it was given to cover Iraq-related expenses and is not providing Iraq with a complete list of U.S.-funded reconstruction projects, according to two new government audits.

War is great for money laundering - zero accountability and the cash just keeps flowing in!

Mission Accomplished for sure

So True. The most frustrating thing is that after all the lives and treasure lost over the last decade, Iraq is slipping (galloping) back into chaos. Some would say we left too early, I still say we left too late. The thing is that people are sooooo trired of hearing about Iraq that I think they have basically shut the door on it now that we have officially withdrawn. This little ditty about a few missing BILLION $$ jut kind of gets swept under the rug. Nobody fookin cares anymore. There are bigger stories to cover like how much Mitt Romney is worth. (n)(n)(n)

yup, Iraq is undoubtedly slipping. I was talking to my Army buddy and he brought up Iran/Somalia and I was like - Iraq will be back on the plate.

It would be nice to actually finish and fix something for once - like you said, so much life, property, resources, $$ lost for what?

we have teenagers getting their asses handed to them for making a bad burger and not a single brow raised over billions of dollars lost...
